Quick Weight Loss Tips

By Edited Nov 4, 2015 0 1

There are a lot of different ways that you could potentially lose weight very quickly, but you are probably already aware that not all of them would be wise decisions. This can be very discouraging to potential dieters, because people rely on quick results to let them know their diet is working. Particularly considering all the highly conflictual information you can find about weight loss and diet plans, this kind of immediate feedback is crucial to maintaining motivation, because you definitely don't want to be putting a lot of effort in to something that is not going to pay off in the end. You don't want to feel like a failure and you certainly don't want to feel like a sucker.

So even though it is inadvisable to focus purely on speed when choosing a weight loss program, it is undeniable that quick weight loss is a critical qualifying factor for a successful diet program in this day and age. The most important thing is to think about the sustainability of the diet plan that you are on. It is rare to find a program that will work well for you in the short term if it would not also work well in the long term. That is because while motivation waxes and wanes, the physiological of the individual as a whole does not change very quickly.

Therefore, if you go on a massive crash diet and try to starve yourself to drop pounds for some major event, what is likely to happen is that your underlying metabolic infrastructure will remain unchanged and simply adjust itself for the perceived scarcity. This means you suffering will be repaid with greater metabolic efficiency, meaning that you will burn fewer and fewer calories the further you go. This is obviously not the result you are looking for because if you want to lose weight then you will need to increase the rate at which you are burning calories, not decrease it.

So often people are misguided in their attempts at losing weight quickly because they follow the "common sense" approach of eating less and exercising more. In fact, this approach is training your body to operate more efficiently. You are teaching your body that it needs to do more work with less fuel. So it will be conservative. This is the same type of physiological conditioning that your ancestors would have experienced when their was a drought and they had to uproot their lives and travel hundreds of miles on foot to track down the nearest herd of migrating buffalo or moose.

My best quick weight loss tips are to simply think in the long term and to try and follow the underlying logic of your body. Think about what kinds of signals you are sending, because the food that you eat constitutes a kind of ongoing conversation between your body and the environment. And the human body has had to be highly adaptive in order to survive in such a wide variety of conditions, so it will respond to what you put in. Don't just try to starve yourself; that's not the best way to lose weight.

The best way to lose weight quickly is to finesse your body's natural proclivities. This is counterintuitive for many people, especially those who have been dieting for years. Most of what people call "dieting" is a ruthless struggle to get the body to submit. I believe strongly that this approach could hardly be more incorrect.

If the body has more than it needs, it will be much less conservative in burning up calories. This makes perfect sense when you think about it, but it is just the opposite of what you have been told for the last four decades. And the more that people have tried to restrict the amount of fat they are eating, and to eat less meat and more veggies, the fatter the population as a whole has become.

Why? because restricting these precious nutrients makes you feel hungry! the reason you feel hunger is not because your body is a mindless beast that demands unhealthy things, but because it is smart enough to tell you what it needs. So what are you likely to do if you are restricting fat and protein foods? You will still eat, but you will eat more carbohydrate. Consumption of fat makes you feel full, and consumption of sugar makes you hungry. That's why you can still eat a big dessert after being absolutely full from real food.

So if you're looking for quick weight loss, the quickest way is to ask your body to feel full and to burn up calories like they're free, and the easiest way to do that is to eat plenty of fat and protein and not a lot of carbohydrate at all. For quick weight loss, try to stay around 30-40 grams of carbs per day, and you will surely see a big difference. If you're hungry, eat! That will tell your body that it doesn't need to worry about wasting some extra calories.
