Full Review

The REN Matte Balancing Fluid is a small container, packed with natural ingredients to combat oily skin and shine. With a subtle smell, the fluid is easily absorbed and feels light on the skin, and does not leave skin feeling greasy.

What REN says:

"Strike a beautiful balance with this moisturizer, designed to leave skin clear, shine-free, and healthy. Glucomannan from Konjac root helps to disperse oil. Mayblossom extract and salicilin decongest and purify the skin while helping to normalize excess sebum production. Bisabolol from chamomile and blue cypress essential oil calms and heal. REN's Global Protection Complex delivers powerful antioxidants, purify the skin, and protect it against inflammation and premature aging."

The fluid is easy to apply and, as when used with REN Mayblossom Balancing Cleansing Gel, forms a solid daily skincare routine for those with combination to oily skin. If you are looking for something super unctuous and nourishing, this probably isn't it. While I don't find it as mattifying as other products I've used, other people give this product great reviews for fighting oily patches. My skin can be super oily at times, so perhaps it's just me.

What I do love is the ingredients and how the REN Skincare range has really reduced the number of breakouts that I suffer and the overall improvement in pore size and skin tone that I've seen as a result. Sometimes we can think we need super-industrial chemical skincare to get results, particularly on oily skin, but REN proves that natural ingredients can be a much kinder and equally effective way to go.

In Closing

While I'd recommend this product for anyone with oily patches and enlarged pores, if I had to choose between this or my REN Mayblossom Cleansing Gel, I'd choose the cleanser. That said, both together deliver great results and really do help my sensitive yet oily skin.

RENs bodycare range is also extraordinarily good, so I'd also advise people to check that out too, if the cost of the Mattifying Fluid is too expensive. I'm sticking with REN Skincare for quite some time.
