A Visit to Rasta Ranch Winery
Rasta Ranch Winery
Surrounding the waters of Seneca Lake, wineries invite you to experience their history, beauty, and the production of world-class wines. The climate supports not only the growth of hardy native grapes and premium hybrids, but also more delicate varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. Along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail you will truly find a wine to suit every taste.
One of the wineries on Seneca Lake is called Rasta Ranch. You will find this winery to be very different from any other. The decor is reminiscent of Woodstock. Posters of Janis, Jimi, and Bob, to name a few adorn the walls. With tie dye accents abound, including the t-shirts, that are sold there. The atmosphere at Rasta Ranch is lay back, friendly and very social.
When visiting upstate New York and touring the many wineries there, Rasta Ranch is truly a must see.
I recall many hippie settlements in the hills around the lake region during Woodstock. They housed in barns, grew their own food and lived free from the worlds complications. Walk into the barn at Rasta Ranch and step back in time, enjoy the decor, and the fabulous wines that they make.
This unique winery brings back a memory of a free, easy, laid back time of life. All I can say, don't miss this gem!
