Rat Control - At War with Rats

By | Oct 25, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Rats. The revolting evil, which had plagued our existence, and turned it into a living hell. No matter how much of a rat I am according to Chinese horoscope, you cannot imagine how much I hate rats! And when I found out that those malevolent creatures have found refuge at my own house, I really couldn't call it a pleasant surprise. After some time spent battling with me, I decided to take matter in my own hands and find out what is rat control is all about.

When I firstly thought about how to deal with rats, the cartoonish images of classic wooden mice traps from Tom & Jerry came to mind. But after browsing the web for some time, I surly got surprised about the amount of rat control methods offered, and the progression of rat traps in general. Apart from good old classics, like wooden rat trap, there are new kinds of rat traps made of plastic and the most advanced rat traps that are powered by electricity, and are called the rat zappers or rat shockers. The rat zappers are electrically powered rat trap that kills the rat, with a high voltage electric charge, living the dead vermin in a special container. Rats can carry around some infections which are very dangerous to human, hence are dangerous to you and your family. Rat container gives you a relieving opportunity to keep away from direct contact with the dead rat, but just throw it away straight into the trash can instead.

Apart from rat shockers, there are off course the classical murder weapons – the plastic and wooden rat traps that destroy those stretchers for good. But using those traps, actually have its disadvantages, since when the rat is dead, you are the one that will have to take it out from the trap and dispose it in the rubbish. I recommend using gloves for that matter to avoid contacting with the dead rat.

But if you really want to avoid even looking at the rats, there is a special device just for you. It is a High pitch sound device which produces an ultrasonic sound, which rats hate, and tend to avoid by any means. Having that device installed at your basement will make rat pass around it, which would make it impossible for them to nest at your basement's area, and go elsewhere. This is a perfect solution for people like me, that can't stand rats, and neither will it need a lot of maintenance. Just power it from the socket and the rats won't be a problem to you anymore. They are rather expensive, but will resolve your rat or rodent problem for sure.

There are other methods, which we won't even conceder for their hazardous side effects, and a lot of trouble involved. If you ever will encounter a rat problem, and require rat control methods, you better should consider methods that we discussed as your guide to a successful rat control process! Happy rat hunting.
