If you have become a fan of Janet Evanovich books, you know that she is quite a prolific writer. In addition to the "number books", which are the most popular of her creations, she has written several Stephanie Plum novels that are not included in the numbered series. These she calls the "in-between books" and are shorter novels that are released in between releases of the Number books.

The series revolves around the main character, Stephanie Plum, who has had many jobs in her life but has somehow managed to land as a bail bond agent. Surrounded by her fellow characters, including a former streetwalker named Lula, Stephanie gets herself into predicaments that will literally leave you laughing out loud. The stories are set in New Jersey and propel the reader through out the city as well as to the suburbs where her parents reside, still clinging to the hope that Stephanie will settle down, get married and get a nice steady job at the factory.

In addition to all of the wildly famous numbered books, Evanovich also wrote several books in a romance series that were published prior to her becoming famous. As if that weren't enough she also co-authored several books with various authors that stay true to the romantic comedy theme.

If you are just starting to read Janet Evanovich, or even if you have read her books before, it's fun to go back and start reading them in the order that they were published in. This give you a chance to watch the character of Stephanie Plum evolve as well as give you a better understanding of her various romantic interests between Ranger and Morelli – often both at the same time. Janet Evanovich releases at least one Stephanie Plum novel per year, and sometimes two. The great news is that she shows no sign of letting up on her writing, so fans can expect to enjoy the antics of Stephanie Plum for many, many years to come.
