Reading the Left Behind Book Series in the Correct Order
The enormously popular Left Behind book series, written by authors Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins, took the world by storm and became some of the most successful religious book series ever published.
Chronicling the events of the end times depicted in the Bible, these books bring sometimes bland religious text alive and sends the reader on a rollercoaster ride through the ultimate battle between good and evil.
The books will keep you awake late into the night as you refuse to stop reading in the middle of the pulse racing story line. In fact, it is strongly suggested that you always have at least two more books on your nightstand so that when you complete reading one, you can immediately dive into the next without skipping a beat.
The key to reading these popular works lies in the order that you read them. They cannot be read out of order since each successive book builds and expands on the events that occurred in the book prior to it. Unfortunately, the authors and publishers did not put the number of the book in the titles. So for those who are unfamiliar with the series it can be very confusing trying to put the books in the correct order. Here's is the correct order of release:
- Book 1: Left Behind
- Book 2: Tribulation Force
- Book 3: Nicolae
- Book 4: Soul Harvest
- Book 5: Appollyon
- Book 6: Assassins
- Book 7: The Indwelling
- Book 8: The Mark
- Book 9: Desecration
- Book 10: THE REMNANT: On the Brink of Armageddon
- Book 11: ARMAGEDDON: The Cosmic Battle of the Ages
- Book 12: GLORIOUS APPEARING: The End of Days
- Book 13: THE RISING: Antichrist is Born
- Book 14: THE REGIME: Rise of the Antichrist
- Book 15: THE RAPTURE: In the Twinkling of an Eye
- Book 16: KINGDOM COME: The Final Victory
For those of you who have yet to purchase any of the books, you're in luck since next year the series will be released in a collector's edition. Below are the titles for each of the collector's editions as well as their expected release dates.
Rapture's Witness (Left Behind Collectors Edition) January of 2010
Deceiver's Game (Left Behind Collectors Edition) April of 2010
As a side note, the series was also expanded to include a Left Behind series for children. Although that series covers the same basic events as the regular books, they are written in a more simplistic writing style that is more appropriate for the comprehension level of children.
