There are millions of people who smoke today. This is by far one of the worst habits you can have and by learning about the different reasons to quit smoking, you are more likely to that that next step yourself. In most cases the longer a person has been smoking the harder it will be for them to kick the habit but it can be done. It will help if you take time to learn the reasons to quit smoking and see what sort of benefits you can receive if you stop smoking for good.

One of the reasons you will be better off if you quit smoking is because it stains your teeth. Your teeth are one of the first things people notice when they look at you so you want to try and keep them sparkling and white. You will not have to worry about paying so much at your dentist's anymore for teeth whitening gels and bleaching. You are going to feel so much healthier almost immediately if you quit smoking.

You will not be out of breath all the time, can go running and participate in other sports that you may have had trouble with as a smoker. You will also notice after you quit smoking that you do not stink like smoke all the time. You may have found that people did not want to come too close to you when you smoked because even if you have proper dental hygiene the smell of tobacco can still come through. Smoking can cause an array of different health problems, everything from lung cancer to emphysema.

As soon as you quit smoking your body becomes healthier and it will continue to get more so as time goes on and you are not smoking. When you take that step in your life to quit smoking you are going to be taking control of your life and working to become healthier. This is even more important to do if you have children, grandchildren or other loved ones in your life who want you to be around for as long as possible. When it comes to actually going to quit smoking, you could go cold turkey.

If you do you stand the best chances of success because statistics show that people who quit smoking cold turkey are much more likely to stay smoke free for the rest of their life. You can join a support group or go to therapy sessions if you want to have support while you are trying to quit and have someone to talk to. Or you could use the patch, gum or hypnosis. Whatever you do, it will be to your benefit and that of those in your life if you quit smoking.

Everyone has their own reasons for NOT smoking...but it is very difficult to break a habit, even if you know it is bad for you.

Very thoughtful piece of writing that has given me knowledge on this subject...it was well written, and is definitely an asset to the IB site as a whole

There is nothing good you can say about a smoker. Unless they realise the error of their ways and give up.

They say "a bad thing" done for "good reasons and intentions" becomes a good thing. Have you ever wondered why the majority of sodiers do smoke? I for one do not support smoking for the wrong reasons but for the right reasons, I think it just have to be regurated. By the way I tried it but it was not my thing after two "sticks".
