Natural insect repellent is a great alternative to traditional insect repellents that contain chemicals, primarily DEET.

DEET has gotten a bad rap over the past 25 years when children were having seizures after being exposed to DEET. DEET has now been approved by the government to use in insect repellents in very small amounts. Although; small exposure to DEET is now acceptable why would anyone still want to take the risk of using a strong chemical on their bodies or worse; the bodies of their children?

Although making a natural insect repellant would be the best method to controlling what is put onto your skin and your children, it can be very messy.
