Redgage Pros and Cons

By fishtiger58 | Views: 360 | 14 Comments | Rating: 5

Redgage is a website that pays you to do what you are already doing. Redgage pays you for your online content whether it is blogs, photos, documents and links. Redgage pays on your content measured by your page views. Redgage will pay you for your content on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flikr and Blogger. All you have to do is create your account with Redgage which is free, and then you can upload all of your content. It's pretty amazing. Redgage also has a featured content section where if your content is featured you get a bonus. My content was on Redgage for a week and they featured one of my blogs, and I got a $4.80 bonus. I was amazed. Featured content is choosen by Redgage moderators who browse the content uploaded and personally select featured content. My blog had 12 views and was rated 5 stars and was selected as featured content. As you can see, it isn't the views that get you featured, it's the content itself.

The Pros

Uploading you content is very easy. On the top right of any page you are viewing within Redgage there is an upload button. Click this button and you get a drop down that explains everything you have to do to upload your content. It's really quiet easy. Redgage puts no limit on the amount of content you may upload to Redgage and I have seen some members with well over 1000 uploads. When you click the upload button it will ask you what kind of content you want to upload be it blogs, videos, photos, links, or documents. Deciding what type of content you are uploading is the first step. After you choose what kind of content it is a link for your url or an upload a file will appear. You can then browse to find what you want. Add a title, tags, and a description of your content and click the upload button. It's that easy. Redgage does not allow adult content and if your content is found to be inappropriate it will be removed. All content must be orginal and it must be yours or you must have permission to use it or it will be removed.

Building your views can be done in different ways. The easiest way is to view other members content and make comments. As well as sending friend requests. Cross posting your content is another way to get more views. Redgage doesn't have a catagory type such as dieting or foods, they have collections. Everyone makes their own collections of photos and articles pertaining to one catagory. So if you make a collection of all your dieting articles, you could also make an exercise collection and put the same article in there as well. Now your article is in 2 different collections. This will increase your chance of more views. You can also put links into other blogs and content you have pointing back to your content on Redgage for more views. The possibility of views on your other content is also increased.

The other thing that in my opinion is a pro is the lack of a forum. I am a member of other writing sites where they have forums and lately there seems to be more name calling and bickering on these forums. I have not found this to be the case at Redgage because they do not have a forum. I have not seem any negative comments to any of the content that I have read on Redgage. I love this. I think this is a huge pro.

The Cons

The one con that so far I have found is when I first signed up it was all very confusing. I didn't know how to do anything and it took some days before I was feeling like I understood Redgage enough to participate. Some other sights I belong to were not nearly so difficult to understand. Just stick with it and click to learn. Some of the explainations on Redgage were not detailed enough to suit me but I did learn and am lovin Redgage.

My Opinions

So in my opinion I think Redgage is a good idea if you want to get your content on other sites. Let me say that I am not a professional just a housewife looking to do some writing. And these are strictly my opinions and I have only been using Redgage for 2 weeks but I do know that I love Redgage. Redgage is one of my favorite sites, and once you get the hang of it, it's not that difficult to use. So if you decide to go over to Redgage and join look me up, I have the same screen name there as I do here at InfoBarrel. To go to RedGage. http://www.redgage.com/?refby=fishtiger58
