By Edited Dec 29, 2015 0 0

Here’s a great list of foods to avoid when your trying to reduce tummy fat. Minimize these fats as much as possible to tone your tummy. The importance of this list is that many of these ingredients will sabotage your tummy diet and are in many products and sometimes under disguise. The more you know about ingredients and foods to avoid, the flatter your tummy.

Saturated Fats
These need to be avoided because the body does not know how to break them down so they get stored in the tummy as excess fat. There are good ones and bad ones, the ones to avoid are saturated and hydrogenated fats found in animal products, fried and processed foods. These will clog your arteries and lead to weight gain.

Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil
Also known as Trans Fat. It can also be listed as partially saturated vegetable oil, which is the same thing so be careful to look out for it. Research states trans fats can cause weight gain and stores fat deposits in the tummy area.

Refined Flour
Refined flour is stripped of almost all nutrition and left as a pure carbohydrate after it’s processing. Refined flour become fat deposits in your body because they cause problems for proper digestion of foods and it prevents food from converting into energy. Refined flour also has little fiber and nutritional value.

Fructose Corn Syrup
This is a common ingredient especially in desserts, many products substitute fructose corn syrup instead of sugar, which doesn’t do your tummy any better, so beware. It promotes fat deposits especially in the tummy area.  If the products says no sugar, then look for fructose corn syrup.

Artificial Sweeteners
Beware, artificial sweeteners activate the sugar sensors in the body and increase the ability of the body to absorb more sugar. Try natural sweeteners like agave.

Sodium
Sodium can be attractive because is has no calories and enhances food, but it’s not so good because it can totally ruin your weight loss diet. Sodium attracts water and causes water retention, which leads to bloating, which means all your work at weight loss will not show, especially on the scale.

Starches
Starches can sabotage your diet such as white rice, potatoes, cereal, pasta, biscuits, cookies, bread or anything else made with flour. They do not offer a lot of nutritional value, they only temporarily fill you, so
you become hungry soon after. People who are sensitive to sugar should avoid many starchy foods because most starchy foods are rapidly broken down into sugar.

Sugars
Sugars are not only bad for the teeth, but it doesn’t break down easily in the body and it causes fat deposits. Many food and drinks have high sugar content so be careful and read the labels, even in fitness bars, some of them have very high sugar.

Fatty Salad Dressings
Many people forget about the salad dressing and don’t realize they can contain almost double the amount of calories compared to low fat or fat free salad dressings. Don’t let the dressing ruin your low calorie meal.

White Sauce
Avoid pasta with white sauce because it contains refined flour, sugars and starches. Good rule of thumb when dieting, don’t eat white creamy sauce.
