Reduce the pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids occur in most people and are irritating to have. Here are some ideas to make you feel better if you have a hemorrhoid problem and reduce the pain and inflammation.

Things You Will Need

One of the first things you need to do is change your diet Eat more fiber such as bran cereals,salad , and vegetables. Drink plenty of fluids and no more then a half cup of prune juice this will help when you have a bowl movement You need to stay active and if you are sitting for long periods of time you need to get up and walk or jog around. This will take the pressure off the hemorrhoids and relieve some of the itching. When you have a bowl movement make sure to relax and not strain. This only irritates the hemorrhoid and make cause some minor bleeding.

Several factors can cause hemorrhoids including constipation, diarrhea , straining during physical activities and
pregnancy. The most common symptoms of hemorrhoids is pain and itching. You might notice a small amount of bright
red blood after a bowl movement. Medicated rectal ointments are available to reduce the swelling and itching. You can
use a suppository cream , tucks pads , and other over the counter medications.

To reduce the inflammation of hemorrhoids you can take a sitz bath in warm water for 15 minutes or so. You should use
stool softeners to prevent constipation. Increase the fiber in your diet by eating high roughage foods. Make sure you
have a bowl movement and not try and hold it. This can increase the chance of hemorrhoids. You need to do some
stomach exercises this will strengthen the stomach muscles. Avoid pushing to hard or to long during a bowl
movement. Stress and anxiety can also contribute to the problem of hemorrhoids.


If properly treated the hemorrhoids should disappear in 3 or 4 weeks.
