Reducing your risk of cancer

Most people have been effected by a loved one who has dealt with cancer. So much people understand the risk of cancer can be quite high. There are quite a few different types of cancer. Breast cancer, skin cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, kidney cancer, and brain cancer are just some of the more common cancers. However, the are over 100 types of different cancers.

Cancer tends to be broken down into four categories. Carinoma, where cancer hits skin tissues that cover internal organs. Sarcoma, where cancer tends to happen in bones and cartilage. Leukemia, cancer in blood cells that starts in the bone marrow. Lymphoma, where cancer attacks the cells in the immune system.

Cancer hits and attack the cells. That is where cancer develops. You can reduce your risk of cancer. You can help prevent cancer. There is no cure for cancer, though. Those who are at high risk of cancer depends on a few things. Bad diets and bad health can put you at high risk for cancer. Cancer can just be genetic as well.

There first thing you want to do is change your eating habits. Saturated fats are linked to cancer. Those who eat a large amounts of saturated fats put themselves at higher risk of developing cancer. Saturated fats come from animal products.

So what fats should you eat? You want to replace your fats, because not all fats are bad for your health. Monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats are anti-cancer. They can attack and help kill cancer cells. Both provide a good amount of nutrition. These fats can be found in highly in olive oil, nuts, legumes, vegetables, and fish. A good source of omega-3 fatty acids can help prevent cancer. Foods that contain a good source of minerals and vitamins are pivotal to your health.

Avoid alcohol consumption and smoking. According to mayoclinic.com, smoking has been linked to 10 different cancers. Also a high level of alcohol consumption has been linked to cancer. There has been mixed studies on whether drinking alcohol moderately will raise risk of cancer. Some studies suggest even one glass of wine a day will, while others say the opposite. It's not always conclusive.

Use health supplements that boost the immune system. You need to protect your immune system. When the immune system is open for attack, cancer cells and tumors can grow. Green tea is an excellent anti-cancer drink. It's quite rich in antioxidants and help protect the body. A great drink for the immune system. Did you know virgin coconut oil can help prevent cancer? Better yet, even help treat it? Virgin coconut oil kills cancer cells and prevents them for growing. Specifically great for the skin and can help prevent skin cancer. Some doctors have given their patients virgin coconut oil to help treat cancer and preventing it from spreading.

Speaking of skin cancer, one half of Americans will get skin cancer who live to the age of 65, at least once in their life. So it's important to protect the skin. Ultraviolet radiation causes damage to the skin. Wear sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen when you're outside frequently. Avoid tanning beds, they're the skin cancer killers! You increase your chances of melanoma when using tanning beds. They might give you a nice tan, but they really are harmful for your skin.

No one wants cancer, or wants to see their loved ones dealing with cancer. Apply better health habits and try to cut yourself away from the harmful ones. Living is a gift. Life is a gift. It's a gift that doesn't last forever.

Don't smoke, minimise meat in your diet, get fruit and vegetables too.
