You also can obtain extended warranty packages from big-box retail stores for practically everything they sell. And to top it off you will get a machine with a warranty, and possibly with an extended warranty, at a price that is far less than what a brand-spanking new one costs two aisles over in the same store.

You really do not have to be ashamed of purchasing refurbished laptop computers. In fact, in a recent survey of consumers of refurbished laptops there were only 7% who were dissatisfied with their machine. That is a factor worthy of considering when you go shopping for your next laptop.
