Relaxing With My Own Detox Foot Spa

With so much stress in our daily lives, it can be difficult to find time to relax and de-stress. Since my breast cancer diagnosis, I have learned from my doctors that keeping a positive mental attitude is of paramount importance when healing. In my quest for finding ways to relax, detoxify and de-stress, I have found my own detox foot spa to be one of my greatest discoveries. It can melt my stress away in as little as 30 minutes and make me feel revitalized in the process.

Essential oils enhance the experience. There are wonderful oils that are proven to relax and energize. Detox foot spas can also help you to detoxify, especially if you are currently involved in a detoxification program. It is so important to our mental health that we find a way to relieve stress every single day. Whether you use meditation, yoga, walking or a detox foot spa, they are all equally important in bringing you to a more healthy and serene state of mind.

I have experimented with my own detox foot spa and come up with the following recipes. They ensure relaxation. I hope you will give them a try.

My Own Detox Foot Spa for Revitalization
Begin by filling your spa tub with very warm water. Then add up to 10 drops of peppermint essential oil. Stir the oil into the water to disperse. Peppermint is a wonderful essential oil for promoting revitalization. Soak your feet in your spa for up to 30 minutes. For added benefit, lay your head back and close your eyes.

My Own Detox Foot Spa for Relaxation
Fill your spa with very warm water. Add to the water 5 drops each of the essential oils of lavender and chamomile. Both of these oils are known for their relaxation properties. Before you put your feet in the spa to soak, make yourself a cup of your favorite tea. When I do my detox foot spa, I like to drink green tea or chamomile. Soak your feet for 30 minutes or more. Taken an hour or less before bedtime, this spa will promote better sleep.

My Own Detox Foot Spa for Relieving Stress
Start by filling your spa with very warm water as in the above recipes. Add up to 5 drops each of Patchouli and Bergmot essential oils for bringing on calm and providing relief of moderate stress. Relax! Soak your feet for 30 minutes or more. To maximize your experience, slowly sip a cup of your favorite tea. Enjoying this spa an hour or less before bed will promote sleep.

Detox foot spas can be an important detoxification tool that can also help you to relief stress and restore calm. It is a cost effective, easy way to relax in the comfort of your own home.
