Dandruff is a common hair problem that often affects the adolescents and women. Dandruff is formed when the old skin cells are shed and new skin cells are regenerated thus resulting in white flakes. These white flakes may be dry and cause irritation. However, dandruff is presented by people who have their skin cells renewed and degraded at a faster rate than usual. The common factors such as illness, trauma, improper diet, hormonal disorders, winter season, nutritional deficiency especially deficiency of essential fatty acids, B- Complex Vitamins, and selenium can trigger the dandruff. In fact, dandruff cannot be cured however the dandruff condition can be improved with the aid of some potent natural remedies.  

This article highlights some of the natural, home remedies for dandruff that can help to minimize the scalp flakiness.

Include healthy fats

Regular intake of essential fats helps to get rid of dandruff. Healthy fatty acids such as primrose oil, flaxseed oil, or salmon oil can alleviate the dandruff associated problems like itching and inflammation. These fatty acids can be either applied to the scalp directly or can be taken in the form of dietary supplements. Regular usage of these oils can contribute to healthy skin and scalp.

Include kelp

Selenium is available in the form of shampoos as well as medications.

Herbal preparation for dandruff

Prepare a paste by mixing 8 tablespoonsful of pure organic peanut oil with 4 teaspoons of lemon juice. Rub the mixture into the scalp and leave it for 15 minutes before washing the hair completely with a shampoo. Alternately, you can use a mixture of vinegar and water to rinse your hair gently. An infusion of thyme or Chaparral can be used to rinse your hair thoroughly.
