Removing Facial Hair

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Unwanted facial hair can be very disturbing and embarrassing especially for women. What could be more shocking than seeing a very beautiful lady with a hairy moustache? It just does not look good. Men usually prefer a clean look and they do not want their partner to look more masculine than them. We can't stop our hormones from commanding our body to grow hair where we want it and where we do not. However, we can do something to stop or slow down the process of hair growth in specific places of the body and face. This is why there are so many methods of removing facial hair.

For a woman it is very hard to face the mirror and see that there are obvious facial hairs growing. There are many women with this problem and luckily there are many different methods in removing facial hair. The most obvious way of removing facial hair is through shaving. It is the most convenient facial hair removal for men.

Although it is good for men, when it comes to women shaving is not really recommended, especially for removing facial hair. Unlike in the underarm, the face has a more sensitive type of skin and that is why shaving is a really bad idea because it might just cause redness and rashes. It also makes the facial hair darker and more visible the next time hair grows back. For men, shaving is a natural way to remove facial hair, but for women it is a no no. The result can last for a couple of days before you will have to shave again.

Another method is the use of wax. It may sound harsh and painful, but it is one of the most effective ways in eliminating unwanted facial hair. Waxing is not as expensive compared to other treatments and the results can last for almost a month. You will have a hair-free face for a few weeks before the method needs to be repeated. Using wax can be quite painful and redness on the skin is visible after the procedure is done. It normally vanishes after a couple of minutes. This is a very effective method of facial hair removal for women.

Devices and machines are also becoming popular when it comes to getting rid of unwanted facial hair. Most machines offer permanent removal of facial hair unlike the two first methods, which are just temporary. One of the most popular machines is called microlysis, this machine has a three-step procedure and emits weak but effective currents to the skin which eventually kills the hair follicles, as a result the hair does not grow back anymore.

Laser hair removal is also available, but is limited when used on the face because of the risks. The eye area is very sensitive and if the procedure is not done properly, there could be permanent damage to the eyes. This method only works on certain hair types as well. It will require several treatments before the hair stops growing back altogether. It can be quite expensive but to some it is worth the cost. Make sure the person performing the treatment is certified for the equipment that they will be operating because a general license isn't enough proof that they can operate a particular model as the techniques required vary.

Similar to the microlysis is electrolysis. It also uses current to eliminate facial hair. The only disadvantage of machines to temporary facial hair removal is that they are more prone to have side effects such as redness of the skin, blemishes and sometimes burns. It is very important to see a professional who has lots of experience in these types of removing facial hair.

Another method is the facial hair removal cream. They are normally called depilatory creams and they make removing facial hair very simple. These products target the hair follicle, it is loosened and then you can wipe or wash the cream off and the hair comes with it. The downside is that you are putting chemicals on your body and that is not a very good thing to do. What goes on the skin gets absorbed into the body. Also, the smell of the products is very strong.

Whether you settle for temporary or permanent methods in eliminating facial hair, it is best to do a little research on these procedures so that you will have an idea of what effects can they have on you. If you have a very tight budget, you will likely need to go with the methods that produce the temporary results. If you can afford it, seek out a more permanent solution. Just make sure that before you go for any procedure, consult your doctor as the hair growth may stem from other health issues. Ask all the questions you want to be answered and get all the information that you need to make an informed decision. Hair removal can be permanent and that is a relief to many.
