Renting Textbooks to Save Money
GOA report says that the cost of the textbooks have increased twice as compared to the rate of inflation in the past 20 years. Because of this, most suffering community is of the students. They have to shell out their hard earned money for the college textbooks.
After the end of the semester, they don’t even require them and they end up selling them at their college bookstores at the fraction of the price they bought it for.
One option to save on money on textbooks is renting them out. Students can search online websites offering rental textbooks. Students can easily rent out just by sitting on the computer and they get delivered to their doorstep thru mail. These online bookstores even pay for the shipping cost of the book both ways. The rent is calculated based on the duration students use the textbook for. If the student wants to extend the renting period they can do so very easily and just paying extra rent for the extended duration.

- Bookrenter.com – They are one of the first in the rental textbooks business. Offering a flexible rental period. They have a easy to use interface, which make renting textbooks process a breeze. Students are not allowed to write or highlight in the textbooks.
- College Bookstores – Some college bookstores even have a service of renting textbooks, other than selling the textbooks. The students can physically check the condition of the textbooks before renting them out and they get their textbook instantly as they don’t have to wait for the textbooks to arrive in the mail.
Buying college textbooks costs a considerable amount of money and can easily take a big amount of your budget. It is better to rent them out as you know you wont be needing them after the end of the semester
