Repurposing Closet Organizers

By | Nov 3, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

As someone who is borderline obsessed with tidiness, structure, and organization strategies, it's a sure bet that just because a product was technically designed to be a closet organizer, as in specifically for the closet, you'd better believe I am going to test it out in other ways and see if I can find a better use for it.

Probably the best organizer type to re-purpose in this way is organizers designed and marketed for closet organization.

Why?

Because this is the main place of the home where people tend to want to buy organizers specifically, and so companies make a ton of different products. This means we have an organizer buffet to choose from and use as we see fit!

I actually have stuff originally set up for closets being used as organizers all around my house and even in my garage. In fact, my ceiling mounted garage shelves can easily be complimented by the use of cheap closet organizers to add different and smaller shelving unuts, compartments, and storage "cub holes" for various garage goods.

Another reason why it's nice to repurpose closet organizers elsewhere is something we can all relate to:

The price!

The price is right when it comes to organizers made for the closet. People don't use solid wood organizers here in this room, they want plastics, cloths, anything that's both durable yet inexpensive.

This means you can use these organizers in your office, your kitchen pantry, your garage, your den, your game room - anywhere that there's lots of little items - and get things under control. What would you do with your closet organizers if you liberated them from the closet? Let me know by adding a comment!
