Full Review

I bought the Conair® Handheld Fabric Steamer on the rebound from paying too much for a full size Tobi® steamer a few years ago. Twenty dollars for the Conair® was very inexpensive compared to what I had paid for the Tobi®. I wanted a small, light weight steamer that I could use at home and for travel. The Conair® seemed to fit what I was looking for.

After reading the instructions and filling it with filtered water, I was happy how quickly it heated up. It took less than 30 seconds. I found a towel bar in the bathroom was the right height to hang my shirt from, so I started using Conair®'s Handheld steamer. It took out the wrinkles beautifully. Despite it's small size, it had the heat it needed to steam out the creases in my shirt easily.

Before I finished steaming my shirt though, the steamer cooled just enough for it to have to reheat. It only took a few seconds for it to be hot enough again, but to finish steaming all the wrinkles out of my shirt, it had to reheat twice.

I found if I let the Conair® heat up for about a minute, I have the steam I need for two articles of clothing. Instead of hanging the clothing, I put them on the bed to steam out the wrinkles.

It holds not even 2 ounces of water, but is useful for steaming an outfit in the morning. As the water is used, it needs to reheat more often, so 2 to 3 pieces of clothing is what it is handy for.

Also it's useful for freshening up pillows and blankets because it can be tipped without leaking as long as the water is completely hot and not nearing empty.

So at first I was a little frustrated with the Conair® Handheld Fabric Steamer, but after using it a bit, I found it could be practical for short steaming jobs. It would be nice for traveling, and is great for freshening clothes in the morning.

When I first wrote this review, I did not recommend this steamer. Now I am updating this review to recommend the Conair® Handheld Fabric Steamer. I can use it easily for quick wrinkle removal and to freshen linens.

In Closing

Conair®'s Handheld Steamer is convenient and light weight, and is good for short jobs of wrinkle removale orfreshing sheets or drapes. It does not hold more than 2 onces of water, so it is not praticle for fabric steaming projects that take more than a few minutes. It can, though, be a big help for steaming a few pieces of clothing.
