Full Review

Insurance companies are cutting costs and slicing the number of ultrasounds they allow. Sometimes the ultrasound technician is so rushed to finish all of the medically necessary measurements, she can't do a gender check. Luckily, for pregnant women everywhere, a crop of 3D/4D ultrasound businesses has popped up around the country.

Fort Wayne, Indiana is home to Miracle in Motion. The business, located at, 4630 W. Jefferson Blvd. Ste 4A in Fort Wayne, has a variety of packages from basic 2D gender checks to streaming live internet coverage.

My husband and I turned to Miracle in Motion after we were told our insurance wouldn't cover a gender check.

Relaxing fountains and comfortable, yet stylish, furniture greets guests to Miracle in Motion. The only awkward part about entering, there is no receptionist and the ultrasound technicians come from an office on the second floor which can take a few awkward moments.

Our tech quickly found, the gender, we're having a baby girl (for more about my pregnancy, visit my pregnancy blog). We had a package that included 3D coverage. Unfortunately, baby was too small to get a decent picture, so we were rescheduled.

At our next appointment, there was confusion and the technician didn't know we were there for 3D until the visit was almost over. In the limited time we had, the baby didn't position herself for a good 3D picture.

We came back a third time and the baby still wouldn't cooperate. We were told this had never happened. Our technician offered to let us come back a fourth time even though the photo-shy baby wasn't her fault.

Despite never getting a great picture of our daughter's face, I still highly recommend Miracle in Motion. The staff bent over backwards to try to get a good picture.

In Closing

Miracle in Motion requires proof of prenatal care before conducting ultrasounds. Elective ultrasounds are supposed to be safe, but are at the patient's own risk.
