Full Review

The Riverside Brewery in downtown West Bend, Wisconsin is an upscale restaurant which prides itself on its seven in-house brewed beers and two in-house brewed sodas (root beer and orange cream). The food is excellent, though quite expensive. The wait staff is friendly and polite, though not entirely professional, as it is mostly comprised of teen-agers who appear unsure of how to work in the customer service sector.

The atmosphere is subdued. Tables are spaced far enough apart that guests are not bothered by other guests. The individual tables are intimate enough for any conversation, and the hospitable atmosphere beckons guests to stay just a little longer and linger over another microbrew. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building, which makes for a nice change from other restaurants and bars in particular in the West Bend area.

Two menu items worth noting include the beer cheese soup, which is simply outstanding with tones of beer, not an overpowering beer taste, and quite creamy. The Blonde Weiss is also worth noting. The menu includes steak, chicken, pasta, seafood, appetizers, and sandwiches, with sandwiches starting around ten dollars apiece.

In all, this reveiwer would return to the Riverside Brewery in West Bend, Wisconsin, only on a special occasion.

In Closing

Though quite expensive, the Riverside Brewery is worth going to for special occasions.
