What is Rhodiola Rosea?

Rhodiola rosea may be effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. It is considered an adaptogen. Studies have been done that prove that Rhodiola improves performance both mentally and physically, and may reduce fatigue and stress

Rhodiola dosage

Rhodiola rosea extract is usually taken in capsule or tablet form. Dosages will vary among manufacturers. Typical dosage will be one or two capsules or tablets per day; if you are taking two take one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Rhodiola rosea herb shouldn't be taken too late in the day because it can cause sleep problems for some people. Not everyone has that problem, some people can take it at bedtime and suffer no ill effects. General does recommendations are about 600mg per day up to a high dose of 1000mg. Obviously you want to take as minimal a dose as possible that is required to see benefits.

I like taking Rhodiola when I am dieting. Cutting back on calories can, at times, make you kind of hard to be around. That's where Rhodiola comes in. I like to take it just to "take the edge off" when dieting. Rhodiola can be taken when you are having mood issues, but you don't want to take it every day. Take it when your are under periods of high stress, mentally or physically, to get the most benefit.

Rhodiola for bodybuilders and other Athletes.

Rhodiola has become extremely popular in the fitness and sports world as a compound that relieves stress and lowers cortisol levels. Bodybuilders like Rhodiola for that particular reason. That last thing a bodybuilder needs is to lose muscle mass due to high cortisol levels. It also helps relieves the stress that comes with dieting as well. The same goes for athletes. Athletes can be under tremendous amounts of stress so Rhodiola can be of benefit to them as well.
