Romain Jerome
Founded on boldness and a love of experiences of human history, Romain Jerome founded his Swiss watch manufacturer in 2004 with extraordinary watches produced in very limited quantities that play to the past and the future. At its spirit, Romain Jerome watches are a tribute to the historical celebrations and tragedies of the last century as well as the avant-grade and visionary spirit of its CEO and namesake.
Romain Jerome wouldn't have started without the help of some golfers who felt there was a need for a genuine golfer's watch. In that void, Romain Jerome stepped in and created its first watch, the Hole in One Golf Counter. The watch displayed a golfer's score during an 18-hole round. The watch enabled the played to track their course progress, tally the strokes for each hole played and sum the score all at once.
Romain Jerome broke into the high-end luxury watch scene with the release of its now famous 'DNA of Famous Legends' collection. It began with using metal from the rusted hull of the Titanic to fabricate the case and dial: Romain Jerome mined our psyche, and put a piece of history on our wrist.
Another timepiece in this collection included watches constructed from actual salvage steel from the ill-fated Titanic and the Romain Jerome Moon Dust DNA collection with watches whose dial contains real moon dust which was limited to 1969 pieces, as well as incorporating authentic parts from the space shuttles of Apollo XI and of Soyuz and International space station ISS. Romain Jerome might be the only brand in the world where you wear history on your list.
Chemistry and the fusion of ideas are what make up a large part of a Romain Jerome watch. Many of Romain Jerome's watches contain rusted steel iron oxide which have been stabilized and do not further corrode as seen in the Romain Jerome Titanic DNA watch which contains rusted pieces from the Titanic. In case you don't believe that's Titanic steel, the watch comes with a certificate of authenticity from Harland & Wolf, the shipbuilder of the Titanic.
Another recent blockbuster release from Romain Jerome is the Titanic DNA Day & Night with its own unique way of interpreting time. The transmission of energy symbolizes the passage from one life to another, in which the daytime activities of the Tourbillon Day are relayed after twelve hours to the private sphere of the Tourbillon Night. Limited to only 9 pieces, the watch sold out instantly even with its $300,000 USD price tag.
