Now that I'm starting to accept that Stephen Colbert will replace David Letterman sometime next year, I thought I'd turn my attention to Jimmy Fallon.

After what looked like a rocky start hosting The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon has proven he's the man for the job.

His work on SNL (Saturday Night Live) was solid and I noticed that he revered female comedians on the show. (I heard him giving due credit to Tina Fey during interviews).

But a side of me thought he's just too clean cut to pull it all off and come up with fresh material night after night. Alas, I was wrong.

And so, I thought I'd present my five favourite skits that Jimmy Fallon has performed with other famous celebrities for The Tonight Show. I had one caveat: the clips must be short. The first four are all under 3 minutes (the last one is the longest, but well worth it).

5. Truth or Truth with Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer

In 2004, Amy Schumer began doing stand-up comedy and even recorded a special for Comedy Central.[1]

But according to Schumer, her big break came in 2007 when she placed 4th in NBC's Last Comic Standing. She continued to impress audiences and placed 2nd on Comedy Central's Reality Bites Back. She's had roles in numerous films and notable TV shows[1] (like 30 Rock and Curb Your Enthusiasm).

What she's doing now

Promoting the second season of her show Inside Amy Schumer (which premiered on Comedy Central in the spring of 2013). Ms. Schumer is the creator, writer, and executive producer of the show.

Her comedic style

I love how she takes on everyday life and can hold a straight face while talking about some "adult" situations. Her comedic timing and facial expressions are priceless.

Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell has to be one of the best I've seen at staying in character. Apparently, when he first joined the cast of SNL, no one liked him. (That changed pretty fast, I'd imagine).

I've enjoyed Will Ferrell in movies too and he seems to make me laugh just looking at him. He can impersonate George W. Bush like no one else.

What's he doing now

On TV, he plays Eric Jonrosh in a miniseries titled The Spoils of Babylon and he makes a cameo appearance on Welcome to Sweden.[2]

His latest movie roles are in The Lego Movie (as President Business/The Man Upstairs), Welcome to Me (which he produced; currently in post-production), and in 2015 Get Hard (which he produced and is currently being filmed).[2]

His comedic style

Will Ferrell can imitate many stereotypical guys in society and on TV. I think he could make any character hilarious. He excels at physical comedy too (I'm thinking of  The Roxbury Guys[3] skits he did with Chris Kattan).

Up next, Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon fight over who has the tightest pants:

4. Tight Pants

Will Smith

Will Smith has become an incredible actor and producer.[4] I think he brings out the best in everyone on a set. He can sing and dance too.

I watched him on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and felt he carried the show. I certainly got a kick out of his run-ins with Carlton (played by Alfonso Ribeiro).

What he's doing now

He's starring in a romance comedy-drama titled Focus which will be released in 2015.[4] And in August 2014 he'll be working on another sci-fi thriller called Brilliance. In it, he'll be playing a federal agent trying to take down a terrorist who's planning to start a civil war.[4]

His comedic style

Just the coolest, smoothest delivery of comedic acting around. His eyes are quite expressive and he's highly skilled at physical comedy too. Love it when he breaks into a rap song too. And whoa, have you checked out the pipes on him? He's certainly muscled-out over the years.

3. Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing

Brad Pitt

I once read (I forget where) that Brad Pitt didn't consider himself all that great of an actor. As well being married to Angelina Jolie and parenting six children, he remains a highly sought-after actor and producer.[5]

I feel Brad Pitt has great physical presence on screen and has managed to nail down the best "pensive look" in serious film roles. Something about his eyes and brows when he's looking into the horizon.

What he's doing now

In 2013, Pitt was incredibly busy producing and starring in World War Z. He also produced and played a smaller role in the autobiographical docu-drama of Solomon Northup titled 12 Years a Slave. And last year he also managed to squeeze in a supporting role on The Counselor (directed by Ridley Scott).[5]

Besides being involved in charity work alongside his wife, they generally "take turns" working on their careers because of their children and other humanitarian/political interests. In 2006, the couple began the Jolie-Pitt foundation[6] to help with humanitarian causes all over the world. Sweet.

2. Yodel (and the double yodel)

Jimmy Fallon & Brad Pitt

Jennifer Lawrence

This young lady is an absolute gem. Not only is she a stellar, award-winning actress, she's also involved in a multitude of charitable causes.[7] Notably, she's a Special Olympics official ambassador.[8] Rolling Stone magazine dubbed Lawrence the most talented young actress in America.[9]

What she's doing now

In 2014, she played Mystique (a fictional character) for X-Men: Days of Future Past and is reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen in the film version of the final Hunger Games book Mockingjay. (Part I is set to be released November 21st, 2014; part II November 20th, 2015).[7]

Her comedic style

Although not known to pursue comedy (right now), she comes across as more than capable; I feel her fun-loving, open, and honest style during interviews sets her apart from most young actresses.

I couldn't help but include the following skit featuring her on The Tonight Show:

I'm adding these to my collection of late night talk show mugs. What impressed me about these are the big handles, they can hold a decent amount of coffee (up to 11 oz.), and they are both microwave and dishwasher-safe. Makes a thoughtful gift for the fun-loving person in your life. Note: Price stated is for one mug by the official NBC Universal store.
