Round Rugs: Discount Decorating

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Decorating the home need not be a dilemma. Simple touches can make any room come alive. What could be simpler than an area rug? Area rugs are once again making their comeback.

Perhaps, purchasing new furniture is not in your budget at the moment? Draw attention away from the furniture by adding a fresh coat of paint to the walls and a round area rug as the focal point. For the rug color scheme, pull colors from wall décor, fixtures. This will meld everything together in the space and make the room look fresh, like you hired a decorator that spent hours planning, designing, and putting colors together. Be careful not to choose a rug with patterns if you have patterns elsewhere in the décor of the room, it could clash and throw everything off.

Some people choose to use round rugs to protect flooring and to keep high traffic areas clean. They also are an attractive alternative to linoleum flooring, a plain concrete, or hardwood floor, and it makes walking on these surfaces more comfortable.

Many floor plans have rooms that are adjoined into one big area. You can use areas rugs to give the illusion of "walls" or "doors" separating space in the room. It will make it seem as if you are walking from one room to another!

Round area rugs are no longer just a round boring shape with flat monotone colors. Of course, they still have the basic round shape but many designers have expanded on the shape with unconventional styles like half-moon, petal, medallions and other shapes. There are the traditional Persian and Oriental patterns which are now bolder, brighter and have little details and accents that will complement any room décor. These area rugs are woven from synthetic, nylon, and natural fibers. Synthetic and nylon weaves are most durable and would best serve it purpose in the kitchen or bathroom. Cotton rugs are for bedrooms and living rooms.

Make sure before purchasing a round rug you always measure the area first. This will help you determine whether you need one large rug or perhaps you will want several small ones.

Area rugs are very beneficial in helping utilize an open room, to protect floors, to change a room's décor in an instance, or satisfy a mood or creative streak. Whatever your reason for using one, two or several, make sure you choose wisely.
