Rubber Stamp Making - Make Your Own Rubber Stamps

The stamps are generally made of a rubber material to help stamp the design into or onto the various types of materials.
The rubber materials hold the shape of the design longer and hold the ink for the stamping process. The higher quality of rubber the less ink will be used to transfer the designs as well as the longevity of the stamp.
Some people will make their own stamps for a personalized design. They want to have that special rubber stamp with their initials, insignia, favorite decal, or special saying.
They want to use the stamp several times or just a few times. Depending on the number of times they want to use the stamp is the determining factor of the material used for rubber stamp making.
Some of the supplies for creating the stamp include thick rubber band, tracing paper, pencil, and craft knife or exacto knife. If the stamp is to be used multiple times, use a thicker material such as an eraser or professional rubber from the local craft store.
Select the design you want for rubber stamp making. Once you know the design, you can carve it into the rubber material. With the tracing paper and pencil, draw the design onto the material. Carefully trace the design and press firmly.
Take the exacto knife and cut along the outside and inner areas of the tracing paper firmly into the material. If you have an elaborate design with details, carefully and slowly cut the design.
When you are finished with cutting the design, use the knife to remove any loose pieces of material to have a clean and crisp design on the rubber stamp you are making.
