Rustic Pine Furniture

By | Oct 12, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

There are two kinds of rustic pine furniture, one that belongs to an established furniture making tradition, and the other, which does not. Actually, even the latter could be said to be in the style of a specific region (Appalachia, for example), but there are those creations that do not have a name besides just the label "rustic". In the first category, we have styles like Mexican rustic furniture aka New Mexican/Southwestern rustic furniture. Western furniture can often be considered rustic as well. Because the definition of "rustic" may be rather broad, as it can be something merely appropriate to the country or something fashioned from rough tree limbs, it's important to have a clear picture of the type of rustic furniture one is after. Getting New Mexican living room furniture that is reminiscent of ranch life in New Mexico will make for a very different living room than getting stick furniture with the bark left intact, though both styles could be considered rustic. The good thing about getting New Mexican style furniture is that it is can fit into a non-rustic room as well as one that is. There's no branches left with bark intact in most Mexican furniture, and nothing that suggest you must be scratching out an existence deep in the woods. At the same time, it has the stoutness, solidity, and simplicity of rustic furniture- and is commonly made from pine. Besides these points, furniture done in this style can be very well proportioned and neither old or new looking. The type of rustic pine furniture made from sticks and branches, on the other hand, definitely suggest a sort of primitivity, albeit a fun one in most cases. A solid piece of furniture built in this style can be great for sitting in front of a roaring fire, and is a perfect match for log cabins, which also showcase the material of wood in a more raw form. Branch furniture can be some of the most interesting and unusual one can find, especially as far as common furniture goes. Those who have an appreciation of hand-made, unique furniture that has nothing in common with mass produced furniture would do well to search for the rustic furniture with which they resonate. Artisans who specialize in such furniture often find each individual piece of wood in the wild and assemble them into a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture. The resulting creation is often beautiful, and really is more than just a piece of furniture as it may inspire creativity in the person who gazes upon the furniture, especially the design shows ingenuity.
