SEO articles vs Simply Writing A lot

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 3 6

If you want to be among the top earners on InfoBarrel then you need to start writing. I am tired of hearing people tout high levels of income they earn online yet never provide any income proof. InfoBarrel can be attacked two ways. You can choose to write a lot of articles, and I mean a lot of articles, or you could simply write a few articles that you researched for SEO purposes and hope you got it right.

Method 1
Instead of having 1,000 articles earning you $500 a month on InfoBarrel you have 100 articles earning you $500 a month on InfoBarrel. You write a lot less but get paid the same amount. You can earn higher amounts per article by doing Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density.

If you properly implement all of the techniques above into an article you will stand a lot higher chance of having each article earn more money each month than an average article. There are a couple of things to keep in mind with this method.

Just because you properly do the Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density, there is no guarantee that the article will earn more. It probably will earn more money then an article written with no SEO, No LSI techniques, and no keyword research.

Some new writers may be spending a large amount of time to "properly" write an article that integrates all of the procedures that can make their article earn more money. Yes, these techniques do work overall. They will not work every time but after your articles age a few months these articles should make more money than the crapshoot approach.

Method 2
Write about what you want, when you want, and how you want. As long as you are pumping out articles it does not matter if you use proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density.

I do suggest you read up on all of these methods and learn how a "proper" article is crafted in regards to Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density. After you have learned how to do an article this way go ahead and write X amount of articles using all of these techniques.

After you have written X amount of articles using all of the "proper" techniques outlined in method one, it is now time to try method 2.

With method 2 you are writing articles about anything with worrying about SEO or keyword research. Yes your articles may not earn as much in theory, but you will be able to write many more articles.

If you are spending 1 hour per article on average doing keyword research and trying to properly integrate SEO techniques in addition to actually writing the article then it will take you a long time to reach a high number of articles. If you are slow when implementing all of these techniques don't worry about it too much. You will get faster at each article as you learn more about proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density.

On method 2 I can write 3-4 articles per hour when I am in a "Zone". I write what comes to mind. I do not worry about any of the techniques such as proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density.

I may tweak a few words here and there but for the most part I just write the article without worrying about proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density.

With a huge folio of articles, say 1,500 published on InfoBarrel, I may not have as many "Cherry" articles as someone who used proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density for all 1,500 of their InfoBarrel articles. There are however many benefits of using Method 2.

Benefits of Shooting the Board

Write Faster
I can write articles a lot faster. Some people say InfoBarrel and other content sites are not a numbers game. I respectfully disagree.
Motivation
If you like writing articles for InfoBarrel then write articles for InfoBarrel. Some people love SEO and the other techniques. Other writers despise implementing these techniques because they feel overwhelmed with all of the information they need to learn.

Do not make writing a chore. If you love writing for Infobarrel then keep writing for InfoBarrel and do not feel overwhelmed with proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density.

Mark Twain wrote the Adventures of Tom Sawyer using slang. Many people criticized the book for its use of language. Mark Twin had fun writing the book and did not worry about what his critics thought. InfoBarrel is the same way, have fun writing articles.

If you do feel confused by proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density or want a great manual on how to learn all of these techniques as applied to InfoBarrel specifically then check out the InfoBarrel Success Manual. It provides an in-depth look at proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density as well as many more topics.

Cherry Articles
A cherry article is an article that is pulling in a higher than average amount each and every month. If you average article is only earning you say .20 cents per month, a cherry article will earn you $4.00, $5.00, $10.00, or even more per month. A cherry article is that article that consistently earns you money each month and earns a lot higher amount then you average article earnings,

By properly integrating SEO and other techniques you will have a better chance of a higher ratio of Cherry articles. Of course a cherry article is not guaranteed when using all of the proper techniques, you simply have better odds that it will eventually become a cherry article. By using method number two of "Shooting the Board" you will have many more articles published. If you publish enough articles you will begin to have some cherry articles begin to emerge even though you did not do proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, or look at choosing proper keyword density.

Many times you may use all the proper techniques and still have a poorly performing article. Other times you may quickly throw together an article using no SEO or other techniques and for some reason that article gets a lot of page views and earns a lot of money. By writing a lot of articles you will have a lot better chance of getting a handful of cherry articles regardless of if you are using proper techniques such as SEO and keyword research.

Method 1 VS Method 2
Which method do I recommend? I recommend all InfoBarrel writers learn as much as they can about proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density. I than recommend you write a lot of articles using these techniques. After you have wrote a lot of articles using these techniques properly then pump out a lot of articles where you do not concentrate on SEO or any other technique.

See which way seems to work best for you. Compare the results and then you decide which way is best.

By first following all of the proper SEO techniques for say your first 100 articles; you will then subconsciously use some of the SEO and other methods even when you are "Shooting the Board" and not actively trying to integrate what you have learned.

There are many ways to learn about proper Search Engine Optimization, LSI, keyword research, and choosing proper keyword density but I highly recommend you check out the EBOOK offered by x3xsolxdierx3x that covers all of these techniques in depth. The EBook teaches techniques specifically for writing and earning money on InfoBarrel. You can use it for any writing platform including Bukisa or Examiner.

I personally will vary which method I use but I do feel that InfoBarrel is a numbers game. The more articles I have the better chance I have of earning money.

Ernie, this article did a great job of laying out the four musts. It also helps me decide where to head next. Thanks!

Great article and I agree that Info Barrel is a numbers game, as is pretty much all business on the Internet. Search engines change their algorithms all the time so whilst a degree of SEO is obviously a good thing, my personal opinion is that it isn't the 'be all and end all'. I stopped making SEO my priority for my websites in about 2004 because I was sick of Google changing the rules all the time. Since then I have prioritised humans first, search engines second and the sky hasn't fallen in yet :-)

Great article Ernie! I definitely agree with these ideas. I've been working to pump out SEO content, but I still shoot the board once in a while...it keeps writing more fun as well!

One of my favorite articles. I don't like SEO writing, but I agree, by learning about it, you'll do it to some extent even if you don't mean to.
