Cooking with your crockpot is a great way to save money every month. You can save money by cooking with your crockpot because you can save money on groceries, make cheaper meals and save time doing it.

1. Save Money on Groceries

You can save money on groceries because you can buy cheaper cuts of meat. By slow cooking all day, cheaper and tougher cuts of meat become tender. This is one tip to save money on groceries. You can also use cheaper frozen vegetables in most recipes. You can use your crockpot to make homemade chicken or vegetable stock with vegetables a little past their prime. You will save money by not having to buy stock and by not letting produce go to waste. Soups are easy to make in the crockpot and will feed more people for less. Pasta sauces cook well in crockpots, and pasta is cheap and filling.

2. Cooking with Your Crockpot Will Save You Time

Time is money and cooking with your crockpot will definitely save you time. You can prepare a crockpot meal the night before and put it in the fridge, or make it in the morning. Most meals can be refrigerated overnight in the stoneware insert. Before you go to work, or start your day turn your crockpot on low. You will come home from work and dinner will be ready. Most crockpot recipes can be cooked on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-6. Many crockpots have timers so that you can delay the start of cooking, if you will be gone for longer than the recipe says to cook.

3. Save Money by Not Getting Takeout For Dinner

You can save money by cooking with your crockpot by not buying takeout food. You will be less likely to spend money on takeout if you have a meal ready and waiting for you when you get home from your day.

4. Preparing Food for Church events, Barbeques or Potluck Parties will be cheaper.

You can save money with your crockpot by using it to prepare food for potlucks, or any event requiring you to bring a dish for a crowd. Making dips, mac and cheese, taco soup, pulled pork or a gazillion other crockpot potluck recipes will be cheaper than buying something or slaving over another dish for a crowd.  Crockpots are also great for family holidays.
