Saying I Love You

By Edited Oct 27, 2013 2 4

If you are in a serious relationship and you want to know how you can keep the love alive, there are a few steps that you can follow to get the most out of your relationship for many years to come. To be successful in a relationship you need to stay open to each other, be spontaneous every now and then, remember special days in your life, be considerate and mindful of your loved one, and sometimes sacrifice something for the good of your relationship.

Being honest with your partner is one of the most important things that you can do to keep a happy relationship. No matter what you're thinking, you should always share those thoughts with your loved one. Otherwise, a veil of secrecy will come over your relationship, and it will no longer be based on trust and openness. No matter how bad you think their reaction is going to be, it will never be as bad as the loss of your loved one due to dishonesty and secrecy. If there are things that they do that annoy you, be sure to tell them, gently, and remind them that they are free to be as honest with you as you are with them.

Sometimes it's good to do things on the spur of the moment. If you both have a spare day free, why don't you jump in the car and take a long drive to a destination that you've never been before? Discover new places, try new things, live your life to the fullest with each other, because after all, you only get one chance. The options are limitless as to what you can do, you could go white-water rafting, riding on a rollercoaster, see a foreign film, or just take a stroll through an enchanted forest. Taking a little effort to be sponaneous is a great way of saying "I Love U"

It is also important to remember the special days that you spend together. For example, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions should be celebrated on a regular basis. As well as the more popular annual celebrations, try to remember other little things that are more private and personal to your relationship. For example, do you remember the first time you met, and what your partner was wearing? Do you remember what you ate that day? Remember the song that was playing in the restaurant? Remembering all these little things will not only help you strengthen your relationship, but they are also things that you can look back on and remind each other about.

You should always be considerate and mindful of your partner's feelings. If you know they've had a hard day, why not prepare their favourite dinner so that they can come home and relax. Always ask them how their day was ,and always be respectful of what they have to say. In all of your actions keep your loved one in mind and they in return will be considerate of your feelings.

There are times when you are going to need to sacrifice things that you enjoy doing, for the good of your relationship. If you can see that your partner is getting frustrated with not being able to spend enough time with you, you need to look at your priorities and take some time off work, so that you can spend at least a little bit of quality time together. A good relationship should always be about respecting each other and compromising when needed.

So as long as you are willing to be honest with your partner, be a little bit spontaneous every now and then, remember the special times that you share together and remind each other often, try to be considerate and mindful of your partner's feelings at all times, you will be saying I love you till the day you die.

You're right, I've experienced this. The relationship gets better if partners say I love you several times a day.
