People will tend to sell off their belongings then they are in a jam. This means that whatever they have in their house can be sold for cash depending on the value of the item. Selling your gold pieces, or scrap gold, is a great way to get rid of unused gold items so that you can make some extra cash during these economic times. Did you know that you can sell gold jewelry, 14k gold pieces, and some people even sell the fillings out of their mouth for money! Scrap gold is basically junk until melted down and refined into pure gold. However, you can benefit from this as your junk can become a potential cash cow when sold to the right people. The way that gold items are converted into cash is by selling your items to a business that can refine gold to create other items. Refining gold is a process where bits and pieces of gold are all melted down and all the junk metal is taken out. When gold is melted down it becomes pure and can be resold on the market for jewelry pieces.

There are many internet companies that will buy your scrap gold and sellers must be weary of many of these scrap gold buyers. The reason why there are so many scam artists on the market is because you have to ship your items to the company. If the company does not want your item or has deemed it useless, they are required to ship it back to you. However, some scam companies do not return your items and profit by selling by your stolen assets. Be careful about these companies and make sure you are selling to a secure dealer. Always look for verification by going on the Better Business Bureau website. Make sure to do your research about the company and read consumer reviews before shipping your stuff to the company. Some things to look out for are the make sure that the company you're dealing with has been around for awhile and has been an established business for at least a few years.

Do you know how much you can get paid? Only deal with companies that will pay you top value for your gold and will buy your gold for around eighty percent of the original value. Also, make sure that the company will pay for your shipping and that some of the insurance cost is covered by the company. Remember that you can sell anything, even 14k gold chains.

Perform a Google search on the company's address and make sure that they actually have a physical address instead of just a PO Box. Do not deal with a company that only has a PO box as a physical site needs to be intact for them to perform business. Another way to verify that the company is legit is to just call and ask them questions about the shipping processes.
