Scrapbook Occassions

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Scrapbooks may seem like a picture album, but there is more to it than that. Photo albums are flat. They are designed to hold only photos. A scrapbook also holds photos, and photos may be the majority type of the item in the scrapbook, but the scrapbook has a three dimensional quality about it. This dimensional quality comes from including objects as well as pictures in the book.

Picture albums have a tendency to aggregate photos. it is a jumble of pictures. Scrap books have a tendency to be more thematic. Some ever present scrapbooking themes are:

Baby Album

When a baby is on the way, it is a good time to start a scrap book. You can start out the scrap book with a picture of the ultrasound, pictures of mom and dad and both sets of grandparents. You can include a a picture of the nursery before the baby has occupied it. Perhaps, there are cards and items from the baby shower that can go into it.

After the baby is here, the scrap book can gather the firsts, such as: first lock of hair cut, first nail trimmings, maybe the teething ring, when it is time. How about the first vaccination chart?

Weddings are another great scrapbooking occasion. Start documenting prior to the wedding.
Capture event such as the bachelor's part, bridal showers and the wedding rehearsal. Nick knacks from these event such as napkins and pieces of wrapping paper can be gathered also.

To preserve part of the wedding, include the wedding invitation, table napkins and dried flowers from the bouquet. A wedding scrapbook may contain more than pictures of the wedding. It can include wishes from the guests and gift cards from the gifts. This way the days is not only preserved for the newlyweds, but for their guests too. And this is just the start. Add to the wedding scrapbook on every anniversary!

Graduation is another event worthy of a scrap book. Graduations are a milestone in one's life. It is the closing of one chapter, and the beginning of a new chapter. Items for the scrapbook can be the invitation to the event, strings from the tussles, and photos of other graduates. Scrap books also make a great place for messages from graduating classmates and teachers. It is also a place to hold awards and certificates received throughout the school career.
