Mumbai's aboriginal citizens are Kolis, which literally means fisherman and that they used to strive and survive by selling fishes. Mumbai has a long history when it comes to fish trade in South East Asia, and people here love seafood. From traditional seafood like Bombil curry (Bombay Duck) to modern dishes like King Crab with wine sauce, seafood restaurants in Mumbai have it all.

The people in Mumbai really love seafood and the city also has some great places where one can have excellent seafood. Seafood's are an excellent source of nutrients and minerals which are necessary for a healthy heart. Recent studies have also shown that eating fish helps in increasing memory power and is also great for elderly people who have constant joint pains and aches.

Trishna restaurant at Lokhandwala in Andheri is a one of the favorite destinations for seafood lovers, with amazing Hyderabadi prawns to authentic King Crab. If you are accompanying someone vegetarian then head over to Trishna because they also have some cool vegetarian cuisine.

If you work near Andheri and want to impress your girlfriend with excellent ambiance and some seafood then Tunga International's 'Somethings Fishy' is the place. Though a bit expensive, but anything for the girlfriend, isn't it.

Gajalee is another place where every seafood lover must have a visit. The quality of food at Gajalee is really great so much so that your taste buds will surely crave for more. The Golden Chariot is yet another restaurant which comes to my mind when thinking of seafood. Want to spend your day well in Goregoan head over to Hub mall for some shopping and then if possible watch a movie at Cinemax in Hub mall and then do not forget ot visit Golden Chariot for some great food and peaceful atmosphere.

If you like to have some great wine and traditional fish recipes native to Mumbai then Konkan Cafe at Cuffe Parade is certainly one of the place to be in, excellent atmosphere and great food is what awaits you.

Soul Fry Casa, Jai Hind Lunch Home, Highway Gomantak are some other great seafood restaurants in Mumbai. Mumbaikars love seafood. Mumbai is the economical capital of India and the city is truly amazing, the people here are kind, helpful and fun loving. The city has a unique spirit and some excellent places to visit. May it be party-goers or someone who needs a quiet place to ponder upon happenings of life, the city has something in store for everyone.
