Searching For Cabin Beds
In finding a high quality and well priced cabin bed, one most consider the many different kinds of cabin beds there are available, and spend some time doing online research. Whether you are searching for a cabin bed to be used in a child's room to gain platy and work space underneath, or if you want a cabin bunk bed that will comfortably sleep two, there is sure to be one for you.
First, make sure you understand that a cabin bed is not necessarily the same thing as a bunk bed. While bunk beds were made to simply sleep two or more people in a vertical fashion, cabin beds are more designed to offer optimization of space, or extra storage in a bed. Many cabin beds will have two distinct sleeping areas, but are generally larger than a traditional bunk bed.
Many cabin beds are actually designed around a specific theme in the bedroom, and cabin are the most popular style of a custom made theme bed. There are cabin beds that are built to look like castles, ships, submarines and more. A cabin bed can have an enclosed sleeping area, or can be like a loft bed, with the mattress surface about four or five feet off the ground. If the bed is elevated like this, many times a desk or play area will occupy the space underneath. And instead of a ladder like most elevated beds, some elevated cabin beds include stairs, which double as storage drawers, to the sleeping level. However, please note that cabin beds are much different than loft beds.
As you search for a cabin bed for your home, make sure you spend time looking at online furniture retailers and product sites to get ideas. Many times you will be able to see all of a particular designer's cabin beds on their website, but not at a retail location. This is primarily because of space restrictions, although many store can special order all items for you.
