We become so preoccupied to earn a settled life in this brief existence that we forget to enjoy it in the first place. Is this the true meaning of life?. Facing such dilemma, we fail to realize the fact that the biggest and common problem as a simple and easy solution. 1. Take Responsibility

Don’t blame others for your sadness. Constantly blaming someone else and crying in front of others to gain pity will resolve nothing. You can only be happy if you want to be happy. Growing up is not about how much body mass you have increased. Growing up is about realizing that there have never been any monsters under the bed. Ghosts and demons don’t actually exist. It’s just the people around us.

Take responsibility for your actions and outcomes. If you experience betrayal from a friend or companion, then instead of blaming them, be thankful to God that he showed you a jerk in life instead of making you into one for someone else to see. End the excuses, start the changes. Put on a bright elegant smile and say, “Yes, I am happy”.

“Happiness depends on ourselves.” - Aristotle

2. Be Grateful For What You Have

When someone bad happens, one of the most common things we do is that we highlight all our focus on the bedlam and ignore all the good. There is a saying that one does not value something’s presence until it’s gone. We become pessimistic and take the things we have for granted.

Learn to always be grateful for what you have. Never let the things you want, make you forget the things you have. Not everyone gets what they want in life, but remember that there are also people in the world, crying for not having something that you have right now. So be grateful for everything and everyone you have.

3. Don't Regret Your Mistakes

Humans are made to make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. If we were perfect and without any flaws then we would be Gods. Mistakes are what teaches us what we did wrong. When something goes wrong, try to find a solution instead of wallowing in self-pity. After a mistake is made, there remains 2 options. Learn from your mistake and realize what you did wrong, or be sad about it and spend the rest of your year crying while self-loathing. So you decide which one is the smartest decision.

Let’s assume you picked the 2nd option. Mistakes are what gives you knowledge about life. Being depressed about something that enlightens you with knowledge is no different than reading your chemistry book and being sad because an electron left the outer shell of an atom during a chemical reaction.

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” - Albert Einstein

Spreading happiness and being a reason behind someone’s smile is very rewarding. Happiness is something that you can’t always have, but you can always give it and ultimately be happy yourself. Don’t be mean to someone, even if they are giving you the cold shoulder. Next time you see someone, give them a compliment. Greet them with a smile or maybe a hug. A simple compliment could mean the world to someone and make their day. You never know, your one display of kindness can even save a life.

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier” - Mother Teresa

Don’t hold grudges. Holding animosity towards someone will not solve anything except occupying space for negativity in your head. It takes real strength and purity of the heart to forgive or apologize to someone. It will not change the past, but will give the future a chance. No one is born bad.

If someone did something bad to you, then just tell them how you feel and forgive them. Make them understand so you can let bygones be bygones. But if they still don’t understand, then just forgive and let go. It makes you the better person. Trust me. A person willing to forgive is always higher than a person who holds on to hatred.

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong” - Mahatma Gandhi
“Apology doesn’t mean that you were wrong, or the other person was right. It means that your relationship is valuable than your ego” - Unknown

Always keep telling yourself, “Yes, I can”. Never be afraid to pursue your dreams, even if the world is against you. Most people who have never tried a particular thing themselves will say its arduous and impossible. Always remember, birds born in a cage think flying is an illness. You will never realize your own capabilities until you put yourself out into the real world.

Don’t do something just because society intended it, regardless of whether its good or bad. Never blame the society. The society doesn’t make us. It’s us, the people, who make the society. Do what you want. Be who you want. Don’t be a follower, make your own path and make a difference.

7. Don't Compare

It doesn’t matter how good you are at something. There will always be someone in the world who is better or worse than you. Everyone is unique and different. That is what makes us “individuals”. So why compare yourself to others? Instead of being better than someone else, try to be better than the person you were yesterday.

Don’t compare happiness or sadness. Never say that you are in the worst position. You will never know what someone else is facing until you put yourself in their shoes.

8. End The Procrastination

Don’t wait for tomorrow for what you can do today. Every day spent procrastinating, increases another day for worrying. We keep dreaming while life carries on ahead of us and we miss the opportunities we seek.

Your dreams and hopes won’t work until you do. So work hard and make your dreams come true. Make use of the time you have before waking up one day to see that there is no more time to do the things you always wanted to do. Remember, time never stops for anyone!

9. Embrace The Nature

Take a walk and notice the world around you. The world is full of flawless beauty and alluring artistry. Life is not a problem to be solved. It is a reality to be experienced. You will experience downsides, but that doesn’t mean you cannot experience the beauty of it. Give time to yourself and find peace connecting with nature and its wonderful display of elegance.

YOU ARE WORTH IT! Don’t let anyone make you believe nonsense judgments, leading you to self-hatred. You are a wonderful person. You are beautiful. Don’t feel bad about yourself just because you did something wrong. We all make mistakes. We all have flaws. We have to accept who we are and what we are. If you are experiencing loneliness, then find someone to talk to and have a friendly conversation. You have been given the most priceless gift in the whole world, life. So, take good care of yourself. Maintain proper eating, sleeping and socializing on a scheduled basis.
