If you have ever looked in the mirror and wished that you could imprve skin tone then you are not alone. Skin tone is one of the things that many people dislike about their appearance. From patches of dryness to red spots, it seems that most mirrors pick up every flaw on the skin and magnify it by 100 percent. And this is just regular mirrors, if you look in the mirrors at makeup counters then you will think that you have the worse skin tone out there. Do not worry. Appearances can be deceiving. You may need to improve skin tone, however the problem is probably not as bad as you would think it is.
What is the Problem?
You may read that question and think to yourself that everything is the problem. The reality is that each person has exact problems with their skin that makes thme decide that they need to improve skin tone. Many of these are problems that most have had most of their lives. Red blotches on the face can be a sign of any number of skin conditions. Pores the size of the grand canyon are a common complaint. Ok, that is an exaggeration on the size but you get the point. You need to know what you are battling to make sure that you take the proper steps to improve skin tone.
Step One
Analyze your skin to determine exactly what your skin type is. Many people think that they have one type of skin and in reality their skin is much different then what they think. If you can not determine your skin type on your own then it is time to seek the help of a professional. There are makeup artists at various makeup counters that can help you with this. If you want to improve skin tone, then you need to have a real knowledge of just exactly how your skin reacts to the many environmental things that it faces every day. You will want to start with whether your skin is dry or oily but also pay attention to whether you have sensitive skin.
Step Two
Throw out all of your current skincare products. Odds are if you are trying to improve skin tone then you are not using the correct skincare products. With the knowledge about your skin that you obtained in step one, you can purchase products that will work with your skin. When the proper products are applied to skin they will work the way that they were designed. The wrong products can cause irritation and reactions that can make your skin tone look worse. You do not have to spend a fortune but remember that quality products will get you the results that you want.
Step Three
Follow your skincare regimen every day and do not skip it. The skin can take a while to get used to and allow products to work on it the right way. If you have the correct products from step two then you need to make sure that you are using them the right way to improve skin tone. There is always days when you will be tempted to skip a step or two in your routine. Doing this will only set you back on your goal to great skin.
Step Four
Makeup can be a great aid in the quest to improve skin tone. There will be genetic imperfections that will not easily be gotten rid of through proper skincare. These may need a dermatologist or specific products to take care of them. This is where makeup can give you the illusion of perfect skin until you can achieve it on your own. Again, the better quality makeup that you can afford to invest in the better your skin will look.
