With engaging in sexual activites comes added responsibilities and added precautions that people have to take. If one is not careful when engaging in sex or other sexual activities, then they run the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases and other health problems. Learn the tips you need to know in order to help prevent sexaully transmitted diseases.

The most important thing you and your partner should do, is go to a local health clinic and get tested for sexually transmitted diseases. You should get tested at least once or twice a year. Most clinics will test you for free or at a low cost and will provide you with sexual contraceptives and antibiotics and other medicines to help treat sexually transmitted diseases. Some sexually transmitted diseases have little to no symptoms and they may take years to show symptoms in your body. Therefore, it is important to go get tested now to make sure you haven't contracted a disease.

Next, you should limit the amount of partners you have sexual activities with. You should ideally have one partner and the two of you should only be having sex with each other. The more partners you have sex with, the greater your chances of contracting a sexual transmitted disease. You also run the risk of spreading a disease to other people and the vicious can continue if not caught and treated.

If you are going to engage in sexual activity, then you should always wear condoms and use protection. This will drastically decrease the chances of you contracting a sexually transmitted disease. Condoms also cut down on the chances of unwanted pregnancies which has been an increasing problem in teenagers.

Don't share needles or anything that may have another person's blood, saliva, or body fluids on them. You can contract a sexually transmitted disease if you come into contact this way with someone who is infected. Avoid sharing anything if possible with someone who is known to be infected with a infectious sexually transmitted disease.

Lastly, the number one way to prevent a sexually transmitted disease, it to practice sexual abstinence. This is the best way to ensure you don't get a sexually transmitted disease. These tips will help you protect yourself from a sexually transmitted disease. I encourage to practice safe sexual habits and take care of yourself. This is your health and life we are talking about.

Good Luck and stay safe!
