Should You Use Wall Mounted Bath Taps

By | May 14, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Walk around your local hardware store and you will see a huge choice in bath taps. With style trends changing rapidly, whether you are simple replacing your bathroom tap or doing it as part of a full remodel, carefully look over your options to make sure you buy the right bath tap for you.

Typically, bath taps come in two formats. They can be standing or they can be wall mounted. You will probably find most bath taps come wall mounted and, within that category, you will find three other categories. One type is a lever tap, using two levers to separate the hot and cold water. This type lets you mix the hot and cold by adjusting the levers. The bath taps that have just one lever are called mixer taps. They control the flow of the water and the temperature by adjusting a single lever. What is nice about a mixer tap is that you just have to adjust it once to always return to the same temperature lever. The third kind of faucet has screw down taps. These are separate handles, one controlling the hot water and one controlling the cold. The handles are screwed either up or down to control the volume of water.

Just like kitchen taps, bathroom taps can be found in a range of styles with all different types of finishes. In addition, to finding wall mounted bath taps in polished chrome, brushed nickel, and brass, to name a few, bath taps can now also be found in porcelain.

When you replace your bath tap with a new one, you can change the whole feel of your bath. Be sure to look at the current décor of your bath before buying your new tap. Look at the style of the sink, the tub, the tiles and even the curtains. Whatever you buy needs to compliment the room it will be in. You want your new tap to enhance the look of your bath, not look out of place.

Replacement bath taps can be found at hardware stores, bath remodel stores, and at many web sites online. Be sure to invest in a quality tap that comes with a warranty from the manufacturer. This will be an investment in something that you will use often. Take the time to shop, compare styles, and compare prices so you buy the right bath tap for you.
