Signs of Cocaine Abuse
There are a number of signs of cocaine abuse that can tip you off as to whether a person is using cocaine. These signs are almost dead giveaways and if you see them all in the same person, and you are suspecting them of abusing cocaine, then you can reasonably suspect that they are in fact using the drug. At that point, especially if this is a person that you love, it may be time to confront them on their drug use and see about getting them the treatment they need to get off cocaine.
The signs of cocaine abuse
Signs of cocaine abuse are just signs that a person is using the drug and they can never be taken as the fact that they are doing it. If you suspect, a person of using cocaine, the important thing is that you confront them in a loving way so that you can begin the process of recovery from cocaine addiction which is a tough thing in and of itself. The last thing that you should do is use the knowledge that they are abusing cocaine to sabotage them at work or sabotage your romantic relationship with them. The main thing is that cocaine addicts do recover with treatment to become productive citizens. Never forget that as it is the most important point.
A cocaine abuser will leave several tell tale signs of his cocaine use. These signs can manifest themselves in several ways, but what I want to discuss are the most common signs of cocaine abuse. These signs are seen in vast majority of cocaine abuser cases but, like I said, they can not by themselves be used to make a final judgment. You will have to have an open and honest discussion with them about it.
The first sign that a person is abusing cocaine is that they will lose weight. The fact of the matter is that cocaine is a powerful stimulant and appetite suppressant. People who regularly use cocaine show signs and this is the most obvious. If a person has not been exercising or dieting yet they show dramatic weight loss this is a sign of regular cocaine abuse.
Another sign of abusing cocaine is problems with the nose. Now most cocaine user sniff their drugs to get high however some user will smoke cocaine (as crack cocaine) or inject it. But, most use the nose. When a person is regularly abusing cocaine they will develop some problems with the nose including frequent nose bleeds and frequent runny noses. They symptoms will not just be present in the day of cocaine use and can last for many days, or even longer, after the last time a person used the drug.
The final sign that a person is abusing cocaine is their shortage of money or multiple money problems. Because cocaine is such an expensive drug, cocaine addicts are always short of cash. Therefore many cocaine users will pawn their items or steal from loved ones in order to get enough cash to buy their drugs. If a person is always going to family members to get enough money to pay their bills or is frequently getting short term loans such as payday loans, it is possible that they are using their own money to fuel their cocaine habit.
Now that you know the most common signs of cocaine abuse, you will need to decide how to proceed. I would strongly recommend that you at least look into treatment at a drug rehab center as addiction treatment works to get people off cocaine. If someone you know is showing signs of cocaine abuse or, more seriously, the signs of crack addiction then it is important that you face the fact. The fact of the matter is that cocaine users risk their lives every time that they use cocaine. Cocaine use qualifies as an emergency. If someone you love is using this deadly drug, please look into finding a way to get them the treatment that they need. It could save their life.
