If you are planning to get married during Christmastime, there are a lot of beautiful yet simple Christmas wedding centerpieces that are not only easy to create but fit in well with the spirit of the season.

Christmas is one of the world's most festive holidays. Even people who aren't necessarily Christian still celebrate this holiday and can not help but sway to the sound of carols in the streets, nor turn down Christmas dinners and parties. This is the main reason why a growing number of couples prefer to get married in December too. At Christmas time, everyone is just in the mood to be merry. It also can be a very romantic and special time for couples which is why many people decide to tie the knot during this beautiful season.

Now remember that a centerpiece, from the word itself, should be something that will be the center of everyone's attention. Fortunately this is not difficult to achieve as there are so many creative ideas that can be done in no time. Here are five ideas for unique Christmas wedding centerpieces to get you started:

Miniature Christmas trees - You may choose to use small Christmas trees decorated with miniature ribbons, berries, glass ornaments and other baubles. Put them in the center of the tables surrounded by natural elements such as holly or pine cones.

Baskets - Fill some baskets with a mixture of pine cones and Christmas ornaments that are golden, silvery, or metallic green and red. You may choose to put a ribbon right in the middle of the basket handle. Your visitors will probably want to bring some of them home after the wedding reception.

Glass bowls - If you want something fresh and natural, you may even just opt to put fresh red and green fruits such as appples and pears in a clear bowl. Talk about being practical and economical. Simple wedding centerpieces are often best.

Poinsettia blossoms - What better flower could represent Christmas but lovely poinsettias! It will not take more than a few moments to arrange a centerpiece like this. Get some white soup tureens and fill them with artificial or even fresh poinsettia blossoms and leaves. You'll surely have a very merry table.

Gift packages - Wrapping small packages as a centerpiece may sound simple but they are also very pretty. Just wrap some tiny packages and nestle them into holiday greenery. Put them in the center of the table and they will surely rouse your guests' curiosity.

Whether creating intricate or simple Christmas wedding centerpieces, you really are limited only by your imagination so get creative and have fun making unique centerpieces that will only add to the beauty of your winter wedding.
