However, men also get stretch marks due to weight gain or increasing their body mass. When you get fat, you often have overlapping skin. When that happens, the skin's middle layer or what they usually refer to as dermis gets stretched. This may cause scarring. The skin damage often appears as white scattered or irregular marks. They almost look like scratches. This scarred skin causes stretch marks as it heals or returns to its normal size and shape.

However, if you are impatient, you can use a home remedy such as intense moisturizing. In addition to moisturizing, there are several other great methods to get quick results.

Moisturizing the affected parts of your body everyday is the best stretch mark home remedy. Doing this daily will keep your skin hydrated, increasing the ability of your skin to heal itself. You can use oils with vitamin E like cocoa butter and extra virgin olive oil or virgin coconut oil. The use of baby oil, fragrance oil, or petroleum jelly is not advisable since it cannot be evenly retained by the skin.

One of the best stretch mark home remedies is to exfoliate dead skin cells. Do it at least once per week and those marks will lighten up in no time. Choose one of several exfoliation methods available. Just be careful with the sensitive parts of your body. For example, exfoliation can cause irritation around the breasts and thighs.
