Six Pack Tips for Getting that Gorgeous Stomach You've Always Wanted

Everyone that has ever looked in the mirror after stepping out of the shower has wished they had some six pack tips to get their midsection in shape.  How often to work out?  How long to work out?  What exercises to do?  The good news is that there is a path to getting a ripped stomach.  The bad news is that it does not come easy.  You have to dedicate yourself to your fitness goals and cut out excuses.  If you are willing to make that sacrifice and get the belly that you have always wanted, then strap yourself in and continue reading.  It won't be long until you'll be proud of your flat stomach.

Understand That it will not be Easy

The first tip to know on your way to a great stomach is that it is not an easy thing to accomplish.  How many people do you know with the perfect stomach?  Probably not many, and that's because it requires a ton of work and determination.  

To get your body in shape to get that great figure you're wanting, you need to reduce your body fat percentage.  And not by a little bit.  By a lot.  A man's body fat percentage typically needs to be in the single digits.  A woman's body fat percentage needs to be in the teens.  Otherwise, you simply cannot get washboard abs.  You can get a nice looking tummy, but that six pack will continue to elude you.

But how to lose the body fat percentage?

The next six pack tip is that you should severely reduce your body fat percentage.  But how to do it?  There are tons of methods and books out there to read, but it really comes down to three things.

  1. Strength Training - Strength training burns calories during exercise and while you rest, as the body must recover from the workout.  Do not think this just means doing abdominal exercises.  You must train your entire body.
  2. Cardiovascular Workouts - Cardio workouts allow you to burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time.  The great thing about cardio is that you can work out 4-5 times a week.  You do not need as much rest as with strength training.
  3. Eat Healthy - A simple formula to weight loss is to burn more calories than you take in.  Eating healthy, with a low amount of calories is a great way to stay on the right side of this formula.

These seem very obvious, but they are all true.  Take a look at the people at the gym with great physiques.  You'll see them doing each of these things.

One tip that trips a lot of people up on their way to a six pack is how often to work out.  When it comes to strength training, each muscle in the body should be worked out no more than 2 times per week.  The body needs ample time to recover from a brutal workout.  If you train muscles before they are fully recovered, you can do more harm than good, even getting injured.

Cardio can be done 4-5 times per week at about 30 minutes per session.

Get Your Rest

As mentioned before, a great tip to getting a six pack is to get a good amount of rest.  Go to bed early enough to get your sleep before you have to wake up.  Make sure to not overdo your workouts.  Give you muscles time to recover from being worked.

Not getting enough rest will keep your muscles from growing the way they should, and could even lead to injury.

It can be hard for many people to get the rest they need, but this is an extremely important six pack tip.

Don't Make Excuses not to Work Out

You absolutely cannot make excuses not to work out if you want to obtain a six pack.  Don't feel good?  Go work out.  Got a sore throat? Go work out.  Have to work late?  Find a way to get to the gym.  Or even work out at home. 

Remember, you are not trying to just get a flat stomach.  You are trying to get the vaunted six pack.  Those don't come easy, and they don't come if you begin to skip workouts. 

A Six Pack Can be Obtained

Not everyone will be able to get a six pack.  However, many times, the reason is that people simply are not able or willing to put in the work to get rid of belly fat, build stomach muscle, and eat healthy in a manner that is conducive to a great tummy. 

But if you have resolved yourself to making your life healthier, and you are ready to step out of the shower and look at a midsection you can be proud of, you can do it.
