Sleeping Bags for Tall Guys

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 2

If you are a tall guy then you may have had a hard time with finding a sleeping bag long enough to fit you properly. Sure you can buy a sleeping bag that is as long as you are but as soon as you lay down inside the sleeping bag for the first time and you go to pull the head of the sleeping bag over your head you realize there is no material left. The sleeping bag is pulled taught. Congratulations, you bought a sleeping bag that is not long enough for you.

Just because you are a tall guy does not mean you need to suffer with sleeping bags that are designed for shorter people. There are a huge range of extra long sleeping bags on the market that will not only fit you but give you a lot of extra room so you can easily tuck your head into the bag if you desire on a cold night.

Whether you are 6'3" or 6' 9" you can find a sleeping bag that will fit you as well as meeting whatever you may demand out of a sleeping bag.

You can find extra long sleeping bags that are designed for lightweight solo backpacking, extra cushioning and comfortable sleeping bags that work best when car camping, as well as extra long sleeping bags that are made of both natural as well as synthetic material.

Many websites that sell sleeping bags such as Camp-Mor will list the max height of the guy that can fit inside the sleeping bag. If a bag is listed says "up to 6'5"" then you know that the sleeping bag will fit a guy that is up to that height. If you like a sleeping bag to have extra room, and who doesn't, then buy one that fits up to a larger size. If you are 6'5" then look for a bag that is larger such as one that fits up to 6'9". You will have a lot of extra room and the bag will be extra comfortable. If you are looking for a lighter eight sleeping bag for solo backpacking then you probably will not want to upsize the sleeping bag very much as it will add additional weight. If you are looking for a sleeping bag that will be hauled in your car or RV then weight is not an option and you can buy a bag as long and heavy as you want it to be.

Just because you are tall guy does not mean you need to suffer with a short sleeping bag. Look at Camp-Mor and other online camping supply retailers and research out what you demand in a sleeping bag and then buy one that fits you. A sleeping bag should have some extra "Wiggle Room" for your toes and if you are extra tall, you can still get the extra room you deserve as long as you buy a sleeping bag that is long enough to fit you.

There is nothing worse than struggling to fit into your sleeping bag after a long day!

Yes I agree! I have been camping one too many times with a too short sleeping bag.
