Every home needs to have a kitchen. It doesn't matter what size the space is, you want to make sure that everything that you need is able to fit comfortably inside the room. If you sit down and think about small kitchen designs for a small space you will realise that these plans are usually streamline and clutter free. A good starting point for your own kitchen design is to sit down and sketch something out. This way you can decide where you would like things to go. Most people would agree that every kitchen needs a sink, kitchen cabinets, units an oven and a hob. Other things that you may want to consider is how to incorporate a dishwasher and a washing machine into your kitchen design. This will naturally depend on the space that you have available and whether you want more storage space or can do without it. How Much Storage Do You Need?

If you have lots of pots and pans and crockery, you may decide that you need a lot of storage space. You can achieve this simply but placing good cupboards under counter tops as well as fixing kitchen cabinets to the walls. Figure out how many cupboards you want to use for each thing. For example, in my kitchen, I knew that I wanted to place all my pots and pans above the kitchen hob so I incorporated a shelving unit for this purpose. Another cupboard was assigned for all my plates, cups, saucers and bowls. I allowed myself one cupboard for dry food stuff like pasta, rice, flour and all my condiments. This was placed next to the oven and hob for easy access. You may decide that you like to have open shelves with your things on display. This could work out to be cheaper that fully built in cupboards.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to create a space that you will be happy with, will all the appliances you know that you want and need. Small kitchen design for a small space can seem very challenging but once you have placed all the equipment in the plan you will end up with the perfect kitchen for your and your home.
