Looking for that perfect vacation get away spot for your summer trip? I have a few spots that I have been too, and I believe that you will enjoy. If you would like to get away from the "norm" of vacation spots and you enjoy seeing new and different places outside of the usual big city vacation packages. These places of enjoyment will be of great interest to you, and these small town places have something to offer everyone in your family at a value you will enjoy during these times of economic hardships.

The first place I would like to tell you about is a little place called Collinsville, MS. If you enjoy camping and the outdoors this small town adventure will surprise you with how much it has to offer. There is a lake located in Collinsville called Okatibbee Lake. Okatibbee Lake has a wide array of attractions for people of all types. Some of the attractions include swimming, fishing, camping, and boating. For people who are not so inclined to camp in the primitive spots there are RV locations available, and for those who do not want to camp there is a 25 room motel available at the Okatibbee Water Park location. Believe me if you are looking for a great vacation place, but you don't have a whole lot of money to spend this small town hide a way is just the place for you. With the option to camp or stay in the motel you can enjoy the feel of nature and have a beach and water park all in one.

The next place that I have found to be one of my favorites at a price most anyone can afford is Arkabutla Lake, which is located in Coldwater, MS. What makes this an idle camping vacation spot? Arkabutla Lake is an idle vacation spot for a couple of reasons. This lake is located in Coldwater, MS, which is in the northwestern part of the state. This location puts Arkabutla 30 minutes from Memphis, TN and Tunica, MS. You have probably heard of some of the attractions for Memphis, so I won't go into much detail about that city. Tunica on the other hand may not be as familiar to you as Memphis, but if you like to casinos then you will like Tunica. Some of the best gaming facilities in the state are located in Tunica for premier gaming. Even though you may not be exactly sure how to say Arkabutla Lake you can see why I have listed it at one of the great hidden vacation spots in the country. The lake itself has plenty to offer, but if you decide to get out from nature for a while there are also so great attractions just 30 minutes away.

Now the last, but definitely not the least of my great hide a ways is in the Mississippi Delta, called Grenada Lake. This lake is located in a small town called Grenada, MS, and it offers you some of the best camping, fishing, swimming, skiing, and sailing a lake can offer. Not only does this spot offer almost anything you can imagine out on the lake, there is also an 18 hole par 3 professional golf course available, and is considered one of Mississippi's finest. In addition to the lake and golf course, also available at Grenada Lake is baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, and let's not forget about the available picnic areas for your enjoyment. What more could anyone ask for? This is definitely the ideal spot for any outdoor person needing a get a way.

I have covered three of the most popular camping locations in my area that I have come to enjoy over the years of living around here. I can tell you from experience that if you enjoy camping and the outdoors, then any of these three lakes will be the ideal spot for you. I want to mention again that maybe you enjoy camping, but someone in your family does not enjoy it so much, then do not forget about the 25 room motel available at Okatibbee Lake. Out of these three vacation spots any outdoors man should be able to pick one and have a time to remember for a lot less than some of those big city packages that are offered year and year again. I hope that this article has been very helpful to you and that you will check out one of these three main lakes out for your next vacation. Enjoy the pleasures of nature and the beaches of one of these fine vacation spots that will be available for everyone's enjoyment all summer long. Three small towns in Mississippi that offer more than just a lake, they offer a chance of refreshment.
