Smart Money Saving Ideas For Proactive People
Money Saving Ideas
If you try and come up with a list of good money saving ideas and always seem to come up with the same ones over and over. Maybe you're even doing less well known ideas to save money such as going to the Christmas tree farm instead of the store or butchering full cows for a years worth of meat. Maybe you are already doing all of the money saving ideas you know of and are still looking for ways to squeeze a few extra bucks out of your budget. Depending upon your level of commitment you may have extinguished many of the easy money saving ideas but have left the ideas which take a bit more work for now.
Save Money
Just because a money saving idea is not easy doesn't mean it's not worth it. There are plenty of more challenging things you can participate in which will compound your savings. A lot of these more challenging ideas are not for everybody because they require a lot of commitment and perseverance but in the end they do in fact squeeze more free cash out of a budget.
Take grocery shopping for instance. Most people know that coupons pretty much do not exist for fresh vegetables. If you want to save money on groceries then you will have to get over the work involved with visiting multiple stores in you shopping trips. Many people will claim that the extra driving around is a waste of gas but in fact I contend it doesn't. Many times you will only find certain foods at your large chain store and no where else but the rest of your staples are almost always marked up at these stores.
You can usually buy your basic veggies for half the cost or more by driving down the street to the small local market instead. By saving a few dollars at each store you visit you can easily save five to twenty dollars on groceries depending upon what you buy. I don't know what you drive but a few extra stops is not going to waste that much in gas. It will take quite a bit more time and planning but you will save more money when all is said and done.
Make Money To Save Money
Another smart money saving idea and way to make money online is to "flip" items on Craigslist to make money at home. When you are in a pinch for cash you can take an item you own and sell it on Craigslist and then try and buy it back from someone else for less money. For example you can take your digital camera and list it for sale for fifty dollars. Then next month or next week you can try and find a similar digital camera on Craigslist and buy it for forty dollars effectively making ten bucks.
You can also use Craigslist as a way to give yourself a discount on items you purchase new in stores. If you are going to upgrade a couch you can sell your current couch on craigslist and take the money made and apply it directly to your new purchase. This is a money saving idea that is easy to see but sometimes frustrating to accomplish as many people do not enjoy trying to sell their old possessions. If however you are very proactive you can very easily use this method to save money on virtually anything you buy.
Smart money saving ideas such as these often take a bit of work which is why they are not as common as clipping the penny saver, asking for a rate reduction on your credit card, or gunning for a mortgage refinance on your home loan. Haggling your bills is easy because you just make a call and have an answer in ten minutes. Many of the tougher ways to save money or even make a few dollars take a bit more work. If you are really motivated however you can fulfill that passive investing plan you've always wanted to by using some of these money saving ideas to your advantage. Good luck.
