The Smooth Fitness 5.65 folding treadmill is a very popular and extremely well regarded treadmill and (not surprisingly) there is a pretty good reason for this -- it is a great machine, that really does offers great value. Powered through an especially engineered "long life" and "complete silence" 2.75 HP continuous duty motor with an attached (commercialised) 'advanced Pulse Width Modulation (PWM circuit board), the 5.65 treadmill allows the user to run at a speed range of 0.5 - 10 miles per hour -- performing gradual and 'smooth speed and incline interval changes', in pretty much 'complete silence' (accessible through 'out-of-the-way' handrail buttons).

Smooth Fitness 5.65 -- The Running Belt Specifications

Smooth Fitness 5.65 Folding Treadmill ReviewCredit: -- Smooth

The Smooth Fitness 5.65 treadmill offers you a 20 inch width by 55 inch length walking/jogging/running surface -- which in fair is more than adequate, even when you are gunning it on a full on sprint. As well as the treadmill being built to handle a max user weight of 300 pounds.

But, what I personally really like about the 5.65's running belt is the 'Im-Pression Shock absorption Cushioning System' which is an exclusive to Smooth Fitness technology, that lines the belt with a 'soft shock landing absorption' that not only protects and reduces harming your joints and that of back pains, but also (supposedly) allows you to run for longer and faster.

Smooth Fitness 5.65 -- The LED/LCD Programming Console

As can be seen from the picture and video above, the 5.65 also comes with an LED & LCF '3 Window Display' console that provides you with the standard read out data and statistics on your workout such as the time, speed, distance, incline, estimated calories burned as well as your heart rate which is measure through either hand grip monitors or what is more commonly advised and used is a Wireless (& hence hands-free) heart strap. Moreover, the programming console also allows you to access 14 Work-Out programs along with a manual program in which you can alter both the level of incline and pace at which you are running at. Extra features in regards to the console include the 'Deluxe Sound System' which essentially enables you to attach an iPod or MP3 player into a input outlet which then the Treadmill plays the song out loud.

Smooth Fitness 5.65 -- The Practicalities & Additional Features

The 5.65 also has a lot to offer in terms of practical features as well -- such as the rather convenient bottle holder and strong and compact handle frame, however no feature more so than the fact it is can 'fold-up' -- which has to earn the 5.65 numerous brownie points in the domestic storage aspects, where as the above video demonstrates it automatically lowers and raises up -- and when once folded can then be wheeled on 'smooth-rolling wheels' out of the way and be ready to used next time.

Smooth Fitness 5.65 -- The Pricing & Warranty

If you commit to enough online shopping and bargain hunting you will find that the 5.65 treadmill is often priced in the $900 - $1200 range and hence offers you a really good 'value for money deal'. Where I believe it can be to some extent -- falsifying people over the quality of the 5.65 treadmill leading many to believe as a result of its cheap price, that it is in someway a 'not as good as the next model' or even 'cheap & tacky' -- which is simply not the case.

To buy the Smooth Fitness 5.65 folding treadmill new, you are subject to a life-time warranty ont he frame and its motor, as well as a four year warranty on both the treadmill's parts and its electronics and that of a two year labour warranty (all of which is specified in the above video). Which one Amazon customer reviewer refers to as "the best around" -- and to be fair he may have a point, it would be tough to find a better warranty deal than that for free.

My Verdict & Customer Reviews and Opinions of the 5.65 Treadmill

In my honest view, the 5.65 is a fantastic fitness treadmill and will pretty much offer you everything you need from a treadmill and more. The 5.65 is particularly suited towards the beginner and intermediate level runners (where the advanced runners probably should be looking towards a more expensive & advanced model such as the 7.35 or 9.65 model that Smooth fitness offers) -- from me it gets 9.5 out of 10. Moreover, there are numerous reviews to suit and match my own -- where on it has one of the highest average scores of all the listed treadmills it has to offer. Where based on 180 reviews as of 24/09/2012 -- it received a score of '4.4 out of 5 stars'. With it also being showered and praised with comments and positive testimonials such as one customer states that she "[is]  very happy with this treadmill and would definitely recommend this model to anyone looking for a durable, quiet treadmill" as well as another stating that "I did a lot of research before I bought this Smooth Fitness 5.65 treadmill, and it paid off".

The only real drawback that was stated was the lack of fitness programs and the lack of a quality fan -- which in truth, I can agree with. However, these are features that I have only really seen on the top quality machines for well over the $1500 mark -- this can come in at just $900, it can't have everything.
