These gain their power from sunshine and daylight and therefore do no need cables. This is an attraction for many people and solar powered lights are now a common feature in many gardens.

Installing a solar light is an easy task. No electrical knowledge is required and they tend to be independent, maintenance free lights. Simply placing them in an area which will receive direct sunlight during the day is all that is required to get them working. They can be set to automatically come on when it gets dark or can be used as required, when needed. The ea of use is one of their biggest attractions.

Many larger gardens have a footpath or driveway through them. An easy way to light this up at night is to use solar path lights. These usually come in a set of matching lights on stakes which can be placed either side of the route. Alternatively if you have posts already in place, smaller solar lights are available that can be attached to these.

Feature lighting is a way to bring out the best in your garden in the evening. A simple way to highlight an attractive feature in a garden is to install a solar powered spotlight. Two or three of these picking out attractive plants, trees or sculptures in a garden can bring it alive at night and provide a great look for you to enjoy in the evening hours.

A solar powered shed light can be a practical way of providing light for a small structure in your garden. Generally these are set away from the main home so that access to power from this may not be so easy. As a stand alone device, a solar light can get around the problem of providing power for a light in a remote building. All that is needed is to ensure the solar panel gets enough sunlight during the day. If this is satisfied then all the lighting you will need will be available.
