I just got the Solia Flat iron and I could not possibly be any more satisfied than I am right now. If you want to look your best and have the kind of silky, shiny hair you see in the ads, then this is the flat iron for you. I've never seen my hair look like this. I can't stop looking in the mirror. I know that sounds sort of narcissistic but the way my hair looks, I can't help it.
I spent a couple of days reading through the reviews before I chose this flat iron, and I can't believe how good a choice I made.
Here are some of the features that helped me make up my mind.

I guess I'll just tell you about these one at a time.
The one I got, the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron is 1 1/4" wide. This width is a good choice because it's wide enough for any type of hair, but still narrow enough to do bangs. But it's also available from 3/4" to 1 3/4" if you want a different size. I like versatility and that's what this size gives me. I feel like I can make my hair into any style I want with this size.
It is a ceramic with tourmaline embedded in it. The tourmaline releases six times the amount of negative ions that a pure ceramic flat iron does, and this is what makes my hair come out looking so shiny, and silky. I've seen photos of the actual hairs closeup, and you can't believe what a difference there is. You can actually see how much smoother the hairs are with the tourmaline in the flat iron.
The actual heating plates are made so they adjust and always stay flat on your hair. This means no hot spots and much more even heating. I definitely like this one and another that I really like is the
FHI flat rion for curly hair. Both are the best in class.

Like many other flat irons this one has heat settings too. You set the heat from 170 degrees, to 400 degrees and turn it on. When the light starts blinking, you know it's ready to use.
This is the first flat iron I've seen that says it can be used on damp hair. Although they do say not to use it on wet hair. Most of them tell you not to use their flat irons on anything other than dry hair. This can be a real time saver.
The heating plates have edges that wrap around, and this helps me put those last finishing touches on my hair.
I just can't imagine that there is another flat iron on the market as versatile and easy to use as this one. It comes with a heat proof pouch too, but they do say not to put it away in then pouch while it's still at full temperature.
My friends are so jealous now that they've seen how shiny and silky my new Solia flat iron makes my hair.
Solia for sure is one of the top 10 best flat irons to buy in 2012 if you are looking at buying one.
