Some Advice On Weber Grill Covers

By Edited Oct 21, 2015 0 1

If you own a Weber gas grill or charcoal grill, then congratulations, you are the proud owner of a grill made by one of the largest manufacturers of grills in the world. Literally millions of people all across the world own a Weber grill. However, many of these people who put their hard earned money down on a fine grill do not own one of the basic pieces or protection for their grill - a Weber grill cover. By owning and using a grill cover for their Weber grill, they could add years or even decades to the life of their grill.

If you plan on keeping your grill around for some time, the first step should be buying a grill cover for it. Properly taken care of, a bbq grill can last for decades. Using a grill cover is the first line of defense. If you plan on keeping the grill cover indoors, perhaps in a garage or storage shed, you may think you do not need a cover for it. Keep in mind though, that even inside a covered area, things can get dropped or spill. Nothing beats spilling a half-empty can of paint over your grill that's only a few months old. Grill covers can protect even indoors.

The best way to get your hands on a Weber grill cover is of course to get one when you get the grill. Some stores can offer discounts or accessories packages that may include the grill cover. Others will throw it in for free or at a discounted price. It all depends on how much you are willing to ask for or push to get the deal. Buying it when you purchase the grill will make sure that you have the grill cover you need down the road if you ever change your mind and decide you want or need to use it. Grills can last a good long time, but they don't always last for decades in a manufacturer's lineup. Waiting for years to buy your grill cover only to find out it's not made anymore could be disappointing.

If you find yourself without a cover for your grill, but missing out on buying one when you purchased it, it might be a good idea to head back to the local store you bought it from in the first place. It may be possible to convince them to give you a deal on it if the grill purchase was not made too long ago. However, if that is not possible because you either didn't buy your grill locally or too much time has passed, the best thing to do is just chalk it up to experience and buckle down and buy the grill cover anyway. If you've gotten as far as the store, it makes no sense to turn around and walk out without one.

No matter whether you can get a good deal on a grill cover or not, buying one sooner rather than later is the best choice. Make sure that when you go to buy it that you have the correct model number of your grill. Some grills may be similar enough in size and shape for more than on grill cover to fit, but if you have no point of reference, it will take much longer to make the purchase.

It doesn't matter if you have an older grill you need to start storing outside or if you've got a brand new grill but forgot to buy the grill cover. If you are beginning to think you may need a bbq cover, the best time to buy it is today. If you love that barbecue today, then you'll love it years down the road by protecting it with the appropriate Weber grill cover.
